Location: Rhinelander | 62 boats hit the water today under good conditions, and a reportedly tough bite for many. The winds are brisk right now, and some 'pop' up storms are in the area. Check in is at 4 PM, and the weigh in should start at about 5 to 5:15. Stand by for video, images, and a full report.

Member Posts: 24 Location: Green Bay, WI | I know a couple of the local boats were doing really good early in the week w/ 50# bags by AIMs standards. Will be curious whether that bite will hold up today and tomorrow before the big cold front moves in early Saturday morning. In Green Bay I saw some estimated 20+ mph winds today. Hopefully the guys did get some of that wind out on the water because the BUGS have been horrible when it's flat out there. Hope they remembered sun block. This heat has been brutal. David

Location: Rhinelander | Gary Parsons and Chris Hansen lead with 55.31 on a tough but improving bite as the winds picked up on the Bay today. In second just a couple pounds back are John Schneider and Nicholas Schertz with 52.56, a virtual dead heat on the Bay. Third is held by Robert Cardenas and Ben Burtram with 50.66, fourth was Ryan Dempsey and Adam Alder with 50.26, and the top five was rounded out by Nate Provost and Rick Franklin with 48.17. There was plenty of talk about the Bay of Green Bay and the fish movement out there, but it seems that the top 5 were on more than just one small pod of fish. Cranks and spinners are in play; Parsons is using a prototype Berkley crank to smoke his big walleyes. The winds are supposed to be tough the next couple days, but after a pre-fish of cam, hot, and bugs, the wind has been welcome to most of the anglers. The field of 62 boats heads out again at 7 AM tomorrow. WalleyeFIRST coverage is brought to you by Lund Boats and Mercury Outboards.
