The field is out trying to make the cut to the top ten for the last day, and it's a wide open shot from 40th place.

A cold front rolled through bringing brisk NW winds and 13 degrees cooler air temps. Some Pros said the change will help them, some said they are worried about their fish moving or shutting down. It was 50 degrees at dark thirty this morning as the anglers launched.

It took 13# and change to make the top ten yesterday, so it will take all of that and a stumble from one of the top ten day one leaders to move up the board and fish tomorrow.

Winds are brisk this morning but workable, and the skies cleared off to a near cloudless blue. Tomorrow looks absolutely perfect.

This is going to be a shootout.

The Cabelas NWT Championship Leaderboard did indeed scramble today as a cold front moved through effecting the bite either for the better or worse, depending on who we talked to.

Gil Mollet weighed 20.39 to take the lead with 34.31, leaping from ninth to first place. Chris Gilman stayed consistent and moved to second with 33.65 despite a half pound dead fish penalty. Mark Courts slipped to third with 32.96.

Joshua Vanderweide is in fourth three tenths of a pound behind Mark Courts with 32.93, and Brian Bjorkman weighed a monster bag to rocket up the leaderboard into fifth with 31.39.

Casting cranks, ripping and casting jigs, and pulling spinners lead the technique list today.

The top ten fishing on day three is rounded out with Tom Keenan in sixth, Danny Plautz in seventh, Matthew Taylor in eighth, Michael Cira in ninth, and Dan Steir in tenth.

The ten top Pros and Co Anglers will leave the Graham's Island Park at 7 AM tomorrow. The weigh in will start at about 3 PM.

WalleyeFIRST Coverage of the NWT is brought to you by Lund Boats and Mercury Outboards.
