Member Posts: 197 | I had one of my rod holders snap on a salmon the other day. It was on my brand new 10 ft dipsy rod and reel. Watching my pole go through the water at 40 mph on its first 5 minutes in the water was pretty sad. My mood did improve when we found the rod floating in the water and pulled the 14lb coho still on. My question is,because of the longer rod creating more tourque,I need stronger rod holders then the Ram and the Scottys that I have. Any ideas if anyone makes them out of metal?

I have about $400 invested in them, and if I ever sell this boat I will buy the same setup when I rig another boat.

Member Posts: 197 | Brand new set-up and I did have the drag to tight. I am leaning toward the Berts Trax. I may have to put on different mounts. Thanx for all the feedback.

Member Posts: 25 Location: La Salle, CO | That's brutal! I use Ram holders and have turned the boat with it after a spinnerbait got hung up trolling through the trees. I thought it was going to rip the Lund track off the boat before it would break the rod holder.

Member Posts: 125 | Traxstech is the way to go. Both Tracks and holders are Rock solid lifetime warranty and so many options to fit your taste. You won’t be disappointed. I will never use another system. Check them out www.traxstech.com
