Anybody have any thoughts on this? 2 days and you are very quiet, that's unusual.

i think the payouts are much better than MWS was but cant you try different bodies of water in Wisconsin? seems same old same old. We plan on fishing it but it sure would be nice to mix it up with different bodies of water.

How is the pay structure any different then the MWS, edgewalter? Keep in mind this is "based on 100 boats".

Denny, if fewer then 100 boats do fish are you going to adjust the top prize down and still pay out down to the posted level or are you going to hold top prize and pay out less places?

At the current pay structure the total entry would be 30K with 22.5 paid back so that means AIM's "cut" is 25%?

I also noticed it lists the championship payout as being "based on 100 boats"; are that many going to make the championship or doesn't AIM know the cut-off yet? The entry is $500 for the championship so the total entry for all 100 boats would be a 50K purse then.

Please take no offense I'm not ridiculing, simply asking questions!

Good Questions.

Lets start with the same old same old. We are open to listen to new locations and dates for 2015. However, remember that we would look to get in put from everyone who fishes with us this year to see if they would participate. The only way to have this as a successful circuit for you guys is to have large fields with good paybacks. People have to want to fish on the dates and locations.

The payout has 75% of the entry fees being payed back to 15% of the field. Then there is a bonus of the 1,250.00 added to the winners purse as a entry fee in the pro AIM event on the bay this summer. That makes it 80% to 15% of the field. When figuring the amount each place will get, its all about math. Take the amount of boats x amount payed x and then do some algebra....

To clarify the championship. "No one earns there way to the championship through a points system". We are not on the MWS Schedule. The only way you can fish the championship is to fish 3 out of the 4 qualifying events. If you do so then you get the chance to pay and play. This is not a free championship where we kept money out to build this pot. However, read the BORDER BATTLE section real close. It will explain why you want to fish this.

The pay structure is way better at individual events than the MWS.

That makes sense, 75% to the top 15%..... then everybody always knows the top 15% gets a check and I believe the 75% pay out is the same as the MWC's current prize structure with their return of entry fee's.

Also makes sense what you posted about the championship, I saw in the press release that you had to fish 3 of the 4 but not that you were automatically qualified.

Now a questions about the added $1,250.00 for the pro AIM event. Since AIM is counting it the "winners purse" does that mean the team wins it "like cash" and it's tranferable? If not, what if the team can't fish the event?

Well there is a twist on words for sure. Lets use your words first. "Counting it in the winners purse", That's not correct. They are "Adding it to" the winners purse, over and above. That's what is great about the pay out, you know how much of the actual cash entry's are being paid out. Don't know about the transferable, Most would not give up the chance to win that kind of money for free, but I am sure the board will come up with a answer.

Did the MWS ever pay $8000 to win? Not sure how this payout schedule compares with the MWS.

The MWS did not post the payouts, that was there choice.

If I remember, the highest payout was $4000 for 100 boats, but the Championship was free, the payouts down the line were also much smaller. The Aim payouts are pretty good!!!

I think that's accurate. Most of the first place checks for the MWS we saw were in the middle 3K range for a field of 80 or better.

That was my point. The MWS never payed anywhere near what the AIM Payout looks to be. One of the reasons I quit fishing the MWS. The payout percentage was not very angler friendly.
I see no reason they can't get nearly 100 boats in the AIM WI events. Got me thinking about a new boat.

I think what we also have to remember is the entry fee was lower and that MWS had a free entry championship at the end of the season. The top 25 (if I remember correct) qualified and paid nothing and were give a minimum of 5 or 6 hundred even if they didnt fish, so probably four or five thousand from each even was held back for the championship.

I believe it was $250 per boat (it's been a while since I fished it) so $50 less per boat and 100 boats put 5k less in the pay out and then hold back money for the championship too.

Don't get me wrong, I like to payout of the AIM series too but it's possible that it's just structured different then the MWS and they were also working with less money. Put the 4k (estimation/guess only) held for the championship and the 5k less in entry back into the mix and the MWS pay-outs weren't all to bad either.

You are right. The MWS did hold back cash for the championship. That lowered payouts for each event. It also forced you to play the whole series if you wanted a chance at recouping some of your cash. Not right, not wrong, it was there way. AIM has a different take on the overall plan. Promotes one time players as well as complete circuit players.

I would like to see a tournament on one of the large chain of lakes in Northern Wisconsin. Like the Eagle river Chain ext. Aims CRR would make it reasonable.. Locals would love it. + you could get some intrest from smaller boat owners. it would be plenty of room and 100 boats would fit easy... NIce change of venue... Just a thought.
And somewhere on the Wisconsin River?

I would too..... and I don't think we stand alone on this subject. But, unfortunately most entries are from the Bago and Green Bay area's and most won't leave their nest, so to speak. I don't think it would draw a big enough field without them.

But, I think a championship on a new body of water would work and be a lot of fun. There are a lot of places to fish. Like mentioned the Eagle River chain, Turtle Flowage, Chippewa Flowage, Chequamegon Bay and the entire south shore of Lake Superior, Lake Goegbic in the UP just to name a few. It would be a challenging "Who's really Who" type tourney.

Petenwell/Wis River would be a good choice, close enough for the Valley guys and maybe different enough to make it interesting.

Hoping for a touch of clarity.... In reading the above posts, it would appear there is a "separate" Aim Tournament out of Oconto this year similar to 2013. Could anyone validate this assumption and perhaps add a little color in terms of dates?

There is one planned, as I understand it. Don't see the event in the schedule yet.

Hey do you know where I could get a picture of one of those big checks the MWS use to give out?
