Was out today water clarity was about 2 foot and temp was 33.6. Put in at Prue and ran to the new bridge and back to boat club. River is open and fine till valley below there some ice floating but you can pass but be careful. Fish are biting jig/minnow in the deep holes. Caught 20 all good saugers 2 to 2 1/2 pounds only had one short fish and maybe one 3#.

Good Luck Bob

Bob, how is the water level? Sounds like it is pretty low if the clarity is 2 feet. Any current at all? Thanks alot for the report

I was out on sunday and had a great day. The weather was perfect, sun in the a.m.,clouds in the p.m., good fish caught. I have the govs cup there in a week and a half so I cant post what I was using. As of sunday barto was frozen so we put in at Peru. I met up with Mark Micheals of ezstep(stepman). If you own a boat GET a set of these steps. They are the best thing I have seen come along in a long time. John Mannerino

Any body wanting to know ramp or river conditions can go to the spring valley walleye club web site http://www.springvalley-walleye.org/ Lots of other info as well.

Barto is open!

Spent 2 whole days speeding around the river in my boat with no problems. All the motors made it through the winter and are performing with excellence. Did even manage to slice a few wakes with my sharp v-hulled keel on my boat and was happy about that to.

Tried out some vertical jigging and trolling in the normal spots, but the fish haven't got to these spots yet and we only caught one fish. Do have an excuse for this; as it is normal for me to NOT catch fish while fishing. LOL

The one stupid sauger that did bite on my baited line was a crooked tailed fungus head. Thats 'bout my speed!

Rick we caught the 5 saturday I told you about and only 1 today. Put in at 8:00 and only fished until noon. Saw about 6 caught all morning. My cousin told us that he caught 3 between 7 and 7:30 then nothing the rest of the day, one was 4 lbs. Not to worry though its early. Get them steps put on.

Hey Larry, We trolled from Spring Valley all the way down to Hennipen on Saturday, had a late lunch, then trolled a bit in the normal late March spots. What boat were you in? Where were you fishing? What baits were you using?

Yeah Stepman, will do on your steps. And we didn't fish where the fish were, so our catch was no big deal. Besides, I really like to highlight my lack of fishing prowess! Its makes it easier for me to compete in a tournament starting from the bottom!

rick, sorry but i cannot put up on the board where and how. there is a tournament sat and sunday, and i really want to win. we think that its gonna be a tough bite and a limit each day with a few big fish will put you close to the top...i will give it up, after the tourny...
