What do you use for replacement hooks on a #4 Salmo Hornet? Everything I have found has been too large and heavy.
Thanks,
Mike

I keep the front hook the same. The back hook I use number 8 Triple grip short shank. Split ring are so small you have to use your thumb nail to get the hooks replaced. Do not take the old hook off all the way first. Keep the new hook following the old as you take it off. Have not found a split ring plyers that is small enough for the salmos.

A #10 round bend Gamakatsu treble hook matches the original #4 Salmo Hornet just about perfectly. Even though its a #10 it matches what they call a #8. The split ring size is #0. I got my split ring pliers for those at Fleet Farm. It works great.
