| Irwin Jacobs has had a very rocky relationship with Mercury Marine, and has actually had legal proceedings with them in the past. He agressively has gone after them on several occasions, including a memorable speech at a dealer meeting. The fact Genmar's owner and Mercury are at odds over this issue should surprise no one in the industry. Mr. Jacobs isn't afraid to shoot any direction he thinks may be good for profits, an admirable trait in a CEO. What he may want to remember, though, is the sun don't shine on the same dogs hinder every day. The Democrats in Clintons day were experts at this debate/distraction technique, called "LOOK OVER THERE!!!" Eventually, folks actually might.
