Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Risor Thanks for the continued updates of futility. It sure makes me feel better when I don't get much action. One of these days they're gonna turn on for you and you'll be there to enjoy it. I wish I had the time to fish as often as you do. I will finally make it out for the first time in two weeks on Sunday morning. Keep the reports coming and good luck

Member Posts: 215 | Fished off Brothertown on Sat and came up with 3 very big perch and a walleye and we missed a bunch too. Didnt make a ton of fish bt the ones we marked were pretty aggressive. Did all this before getting th truck stuck on a small ice shove. Hats off to the Brothertown Fishing Club for coming to my assistance. The 10 dollar pin was wort evry penny before and after their assistance. I know its been said before but please donate to all of these clubs as they do spen a lot of time and money making it easier for all of us to get out and fish. Sorrry I didnt call Risor but fishing was kind of a last minute idea, but I think I know where some JUMBO perch are now. And I mean JUMBO.

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | I fished on the SE corner of Stevens Reef this morning. Nothing. Marked a few but they showed very little interest before they were out of there. Talked to some spearers that were set up on the reef and they told me they saw very few fish over the last two days.

Member Posts: 284 | Saw a fair amount of walleyes when I was spearing off of Payne's. 10' down in 19' of water is where they were cruising through.

Member Posts: 198 Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | a friend of mine who spent some time spearing was amazed at the schools of walleye swimming by. They are there no question, I'm hoping to have some time to sneek down for a couple days of fishing yet myself, Capt. Marty http://www.littlebaydenoc.com

Member Posts: 377 Location: Neenah Wi | Well Rick Larson and I went to the hot spot I got a tip about and it was'nt so hot after all.We fished just south of Garlic Isl.in about 16ft.We were about ready to move and would'nt you know it an eye shows up on the camera. So we decided to stick it out.I drilled a few holes and tried a little farther away from the shack and no dice.On the way off the ice I was thinking to myself Rick must be a glutten for punishment.I can't seem to put him or I on fish.Well I put him on one fish anyhow.I think that was the same fish I saw the other day.It just seems to follow me around and torement me.I went off the north end of Garlic today and saw that same fish.So I decided to head down to Oshkosh off ceape st.went 2 miles out to the south road.Caught 2 perch and saw 3 eyes. This could have been that same fish 3 different times. So help me if I catch this little bugger it is getting soaked in grease for sure.A friend moved his sturgeon shack out there and I will get a report later. They are getting fish 2-3 miles out on pimple and raps I would guess later in the day into night.Rick I hope you don't think I'm making a habit out of this.Talk to you later.

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Fished off Payne's Point this morning, same old song. Marked some, had a few interested, only a couple of bites, and then I whiffed. Was surprised at the new heave .75 miles out. I was planning to head out a couple of miles but without 4wd, I settled for 13' just inside the heave.

Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | Hey Viking- was that you fishing where the bridge used to be? I went out to check the bridge in it's new location (1/4 mi. south) but didn't have time to come over to see how you were doing. It has been pretty slow lately. My friends pulled their shacks from 1.3 mi. out because the bite just didn't happen.

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Yeah that was me Dale. I went out at 5:30 and pulled up to the heave in the dark. I didn't want to take any chances moving around in the dark so I decided to just set-up right there. As I said, marked some and had a few takers but wasn't able to close the deal. One guy just north of me got a 14".

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Tried a different strategy yesterday. Instead of traveling, I decided to stay close to home & try the area between Doty Island and Lighthouse Reef. Now I know why no one else ever fishes there. Punched about 30 holes from 5' to 8' FOW and never marked a fish. Had fun anyway, I brought my 3-year-old out and he had a blast. Ice was about 12". My adventure did inspire a question for the Winnebago experts. How deep are the average weeds lines? In only 5' of water I expected to find some weedgrowth and maybe a few panfish, but alas no weeds. How shallow should I look for a weedline?

| i dont know why u guys are having problems catching fish weve been hammering nice perch all day 3 miles out of fishermans road..a walleye about 4inches!! smallest walleye i ever caught.. minnows and tip ups. allday we ended up with 23 perch between the 4 of us nobody around.. which is a good thing i wont be out til sunday so fish exactly 3 miles straight out of fishermans.. youll be running all day | |||
