This report sent in to me by The Oh Yeah!!! stationed in Huron Ohio----Fishing reef complexes in the western basin. The bite is on !!!!!
Fished Friday and Saturday off Turtle Creek with limits each day. Jiggin in 10-14fow with chartreuse fuzzy grubs and vibees, tipped w/ minnow, stinger hook a real + as most bites were short, mostly jacks in the 2-4lb range in close. Purple or blue 3/4oz hair jigs were also hot, but we had none.
Also fished between the reefs for the larger females . Our hot lure was a blue/silver husky jerk 90' back, suspended fish 6-10ft down. We had our best luck in the dirtier water, on the edges of a distinct mud line Friday. Our biggest female was a spawned out 29.5" female, but we saw a lot of 12lb + fish at the marina.
Met Mark Witten, ranked 2nd in the world, he and his wife had 6 fish all over 30". One 33.5", football belllied hawg!! We saw dem fishes. He was too tight lipped about location and presentation, but a really nice guy. His hot lure was a bubblegum rip-stick.

Thanks for the report Mike. I'm headed there on Friday. We are staying on south bass island for a week. I hope to get a long awaited trophy. Keep the updates coming.

Andy Ill try as they come in to Trophy Outdoors Adventures desk----T O A---Member Double Trouble Dan sent this in from a report he got from-------- Hiway bait--

Report: Hello, Its Monday afternoon and the wind is blowing and it is cold here at lake Erie. The wind is out of the northeast at about 20 to 25 mph. The air temperature is about 43 degrees, but it feels like 20 degrees coming off that 40-degree water from the north. The water temperature got up to 45 this weekend with the sunshine and the light winds we had. What a wonderful weekend we had. We had about 4 good days of light winds and sun. The walleyes and perch were jumping into the boats. One of the head boats from Port Clinton had 35 people on board Friday, all got their limit of walleyes and they were in the dock early. There arent very many charters in yet, but the few that are caught their limit easy. Most everyone we talked to caught his or her fish except yesterday it was pretty rough. Most of the walleyes were caught around the reef complex off the shore by Davis Bessie Power Plant and around the Islands using Fussy Grubs and Hair Jigs. Jim Klick from Minnesota and his two friends were trolling worm harnesses Friday and Saturday and picked up some nice hogs around Kelleys Island. I saw and eat some of the fish they caught Friday. They had 3 Fish Ohio walleyes. Saturday I didnt see the fish, but I have no reason not to believe them, they said they caught bigger fish and had several in the 12 to 14 lb category. Steve Kerr, his wife, Lynn, and a friend, all from Mansfield, Ohio were perch fishing Saturday and caught 100 nice ones including a 14er. Lynn caught the Fish Ohio Perch. She said the others would have had them too, but they lost theirs. The wind is supposed to blow tomorrow too. Then lay down Wednesday for a better fishing day. This northeast wind has blown more cold water in from the big part of the lake, so the water temperature is back down to 40 now, which will slow the fishing for a couple of days. Good fishing, & good luck, Don. (compliments of Hiwaybait.com)
