Nothing was working out for me yesterday, couple of fishing buddies bailed on me and let me down - one doesn't have gas money the other one has to look after his kid... Well I had to get out and fish so I ran up to Necedah. As crowded as the city bank was, the side across was empty - not a soul. I knew fast action was in store to be had with the couple of lbs of nightcrawlers I had stacked in my styrofoam bucket LOL. I never expected the bite to be so various! I caught different species on every cast for a while! Started off with a Redhorse Sucker, Dogfish, Common Carp and a lot more Carp! My friend the yopung pops Troy Benolken finally made it up and helped me go through all the Nightcrawlers we had the larger bunch of worms on the hook the bigger the RedHorse! Close to darkness Bullheads started off great and the surprise was that a fat pounder had 3!(three) lines in his mouth broken off and curlied up with the bundles of crawlers still wiggling! That is one greedy Pig! I also caught fish jigging a twistertail, a tube jig and got surprised by a guy who showed me a bucketfull of white bass - he also caught Smallmouth/Largemouth and Northerns bit him off a couple of times just downstream of me - I presume with the thick Rough fish in the pool every other species was pushed downstream. All fish released.

Thanx, Dan, What I hated the most was seeing their carcasses sprawled atop of the ice this last icefishing season both on Partridge lake, Waupaka and on the River Bay, Jeaunou Ctys. I hate senceless waste of life! Don't want it don't destroy it... I am sure our friend RichFish has a story to tell including charred in the campfire...

Yeah, dogfish can display some really bright colors, especially around spawn time.
