Member Posts: 157 Location: YouTube.com/LyubakaVideo Instagram @LyubakaVideo | Heard of great bite under the Prairie Du Sac powerplant spillway, and some generously large White/Smallmouth Bass for added thrill so I took off with a short stop at Baraboo, just to find out that getting your car detailed in a small city can be a really depressing experience :(...(It is high time to do it cause now I am "pickin the fruits" of a spilled rosy-red minnow bucket on the backseat during ice fishing Devil's Lake ... LOL)... Made a few casts at the Baraboo river near the circus and only saw Chubs jumping around. Off we go to the Wisconsin under the Sauk dam. The area is really nice and seems to be user-friendly ;). Crowds were off and that was conspicuous... Scott had some 3lb+ White Bass there a few nights ago and also quite a few Walleyes that did not cut it for the local "legal" description 18"+ Walleye; 15"+ Sauger 3 Daily bag in total. Catfish are closed till 1st Saturday in May - I suppose the reason is there are too many Behemotts running up from the Mississippi to spawn and there are SpoonBills and lots of Sturgeon. We saw a tremendous display of power by - I would think - one and the same fish a few times - huge dark body and I suppose it was one of the prehistoric, plancton-feeding Billies. We did get bites, and we did hook into fish, but all we managed to land was 2 Sheep and 2 Eyes :(... Guys around weren't any luckier - even the ones wading out not minding the sharp drop-off precaution sign posted in the parking lot. One walleye hit my spinner in the foot of the boat launch and a sheepshead almost took my rod in tow, giving me a run for my money LOL - I was thinking it is a huge thing and it ended up being a 2lb lamb ;). There were a couple of strange Ducks that liked my bait boxes A LOT!!! LOL Will fish that spot again reminds me a lot of the Danube river by my city in Bulgaria!
