Yes, it is this weekend and is run by Randy Blaszak and Karl Plog. It is out of Stan and Ollies in Green Bay. Not sure if one can still get in, but I would think you could.

The tournament allows fishing on the Fox River from the dam at De Pere downriver to the Bay of Green Bay. The waters of Green Bay are open to tournament anglers from the mouth of the Fox River north to a line drawn from the tip of Longtail Point to the tip of Point Sauble. All other waters of Green Bay are off limits.

The entry form that I have says no entries after May 3rd, but Karl's email is [email protected]

Pat Shutte Won with 28 pounds. It took 15 to cash which was the top 10 spots. There was 62 entries with some great fisherman. Guys like Dan Plautz also his son Danny Plautz. Jerry Rufalo and local Chris Spering. Without the thunder and lightning this morning it would have been a perfect day. My partner and I finished 23 with 4 fish for 8.20 pounds. I have been fishing Randy and Karl's tournaments for many years now and they always put on a class act tournament. If you are a competive fisherman this a great tournament for not alot of money. Great job Pat and his wife!

Hi everyone,

Just to give a rundown of the tourney, Patand Paula Schuette, along with my wife Candy and I were within 200 yards of each other as he put all 5 big fish in the boat. Pat's best was a 7.4 lb fish which took 2nd place for big fish honors. All our fish were caught in the Bay, as I believe the top 10 weights all came from the Bay. We were allowed to fish in the Bay as long as we didn't cross a line extending from Point Sable to Long Tail Point.

Pat made a decison on his first pass to work an inside turn that others were bypassing. It turned into the winning decision, as he had all five of his fish within 25 minutes in one spot. We had three other boats go through this spot at this time and one boat pulled a 6 lber., I pulled 4 small fish, and the other pulled nothing. At one point, Pat had 3 boards go back at the same time, with two being the two biggest walleyes he got and one being a 12-15 lb pike. Pat also got a 42-45" muskie in the same area. I guess it was just his day. Maybe next time I can return the favor to him!!! Great job Pat and Paula!!!

Depends who you talked to. I know three teams who finished in the top ten who ran strictly cranks and a couple of others who ran strictly spinners. Pat and I ran both, with the bigger fish coming on cranks.

Not all the top ten fished the bay. I know 9th place fished the river, Wayne Butts and his partner. They had 15lbs from the river. We had 9lbs for 18th. The problem was we only had two fish.

Jerry,

I will have to look at a map with you. I have some muskie baits that will need to get wet on the Bay this year. Earlier than September I hope.

Shep,

The best "non-catch" of the day was when my wife asked why the planer board was jumping around. I looked over at it and watched a 40-45" musky attack it. I grabbed the rod and swam the board forward and the musky hammered the board again!!! Too funny!!! I should have put hooks on the board instead!!!

Jerry,

I've had that happen once. The ski actually took the board under. I didn't realize at first it had the board, I thought it was just a big fish that hit the bait and buried the board. Went to grab the rod, and the board popped back up. Thought I just missed the fish. Later, when I brought the board in, I noticed the teeth marks in the board!

Now, about that location?! We need to get out there with my secret muskie bait! Let me know when you want to go.

Shep,

If you're around GB this weekend, I can show you the spot. I'll be pre-fishing for the RCL. Also if you're around Manty this Friday, don't forget Jerry and Pat's seminar on GB walleyes.
