Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | Conditions this morning were pretty nice, light winds that increased throughout the day and into the afternoon creating some good waves from the south.
Water surface temps. were running at and around an average of 46' to 53' depending on locations of the bay.
Air temps. were at 38' this warming to about 50' due to the winds blowing off the bay, that cool water keeps those temps. down.
We managed to catching 2 nice walleye between 18" and 21" today using Walleye Choice Chartruese floaters off bottom-bouncers tipped with crawlers fishing water depths of 10 to 18 feet of water.
We didn't really have to many other bites and did opt for trying several other fishing methods of jigging and casting.
Reports through the bays' water pretty much told the same story of a few fish here and there but not any great catches.
I truly believe that warming temps. in the upcoming days should only improve the walleye bite and putting more fish into the livewells.
Just got off the phone with Capt. Keith http://www.walleyeschoice.com
and they took 4 nice walleye first thing this morning using his Walleye's Choice Crawler harness's (orange blades/pearl blades) in 20 to 22 feet of water pulling on in-line planer boards then running south towards Escanaba ended up catching a nice Splake and Coho Salmon while pulling crankbaits.
Pretty much the same response he heard as too a minimal bite throughout the bay and saying too with warming temps. the fish should get more active.
We'll keep you posted to tomorrows results, wishing you all again a great day on the water always,
Capt. Marty
