Yippee! The walleye world christens another angler with a 10 pound walleye! It was 30.5 inches long and due to the circumstance surrounding this lucky angler's catch, we will have to file the story under 'to be continued'! Congratulations Eyefever!!! Member Posts: 299 Location: Wind lake, Wi | Yep- it sure was a great feeling and even a better one putting this monster back to the drink. Thanks Rick for giving me a little tip that helped me catch this fish. A tip that I will hold on to for the rest of my fish chasing days. Before we get into the story I'll stop here. I did though, have a great day on the water with three great anglers. "TO BE CONTINUED" LATER

Well, guess it's now ok to share a few more pictures and insight as to how Eyefever caught this dandy 'eye. We had promised to keep things quiet until the tournament - for obvious reasons.:-) First of all, it was at Trap's behest that Eyefever and I got this opportunity to fish Green Bay with him and his brother Guy. And we had a great day catching 10 walleyes (his largest 5 for the day would have been 32 pounds) trolling crawler harnesses in the shallow water bays of Green Bay's west shoreline. Believe me when I type, Trap really has the program down and should he get the bites for today's RCL league event, watch for him to bring in good weight. And am hoping all the WalleyeFirsters have good weight!

Member Posts: 538 | Congrats to Jim Z on the achievement. Carp feeding in shallow water, hmmm the infamous carp connection rears its ugly head.. Looks like you guys had a great day on the water. Take care, Jim O

Member Posts: 299 Location: Wind lake, Wi | Thanks guys but, I can't take all the credit for that fish. Let me tell you this, Trap really has the program down to what he is doing on the bay. Many guys can go out and catch 25,26 and 27" fish. It's the little things that some guys do different than others to catch the bigger fish and I learned that Thursday, Friday and even on Saturday when I yanked out a fat 29" eye with my tourny partner. Some tricks I would never even think about doing. Or it could be how you put your bait on or how the hook should be set. I would like to thank Trap first of all for taking me out and showing me the great fishing on G.B. and he even (slipped) up on his all time favorite secret weapon of choice (dont worry trap I only took six of them from your box...hehehehe J/k. ) I won't tell a soul. And thanks to Rick for explaining some things that really helped me in the tourny. I really enjoyed the whole weekend with all the guys I fished with. You guys in my book are all class act and I hope to get out with you guys again. RICK, CAN YOU SEND THOSE PICS TO MY EMAIL. THANKS

Member Posts: 103 Location: Collins, WI | Hey Jim, I'm missing 7 of those blades. A big fish took one off my quick change clevis, we had it up to the boat and he ripped the blade off and left laughing. Had a good time fishing the past few days and talking fishing with all you guys I chatted with this weekend. The fishing on the bay is really good it's too bad bago is calling my name. Jim if you can ever break free of your busy life you should hop in my boat again. It's always nice to see a guy laying on the bottom of the boat exhausted from realing fish.

Member Posts: 299 Location: Wind lake, Wi | I just noticed something in the picture of the walleye that trap is holding up. You have to inspect the fish VERY closely. Do you know what is different with this fish than most other fish? You won't see this much. At least I have not. What is wrong?

Member Posts: 25 Location: Kaukauna, Wi. | My ongrats to Eyefever on his first 10 pounder. I am still waiting for mine. Any suggestions as to where would be a good place to seek one out? I don't have a big boat like some of you. It's a 16-foot Fisher, witha 50 HP Merc on the back. Thanks ahead of time. My e-mail is [email protected]

Location: Rhinelander | Very nice fish, and great shots. I spent a day with Zach over on Bay of Green Bay last year and literally caught numbers of 6 pound fish. What a great fishery!

Member Posts: 3899 | Ranger, where do you live? If you are close to Green Bay, you can get on these fish in your boat. Just pick your days, and keep an eye on the weather and winds. A week ago Saturday, we had reletively calm waters. No more than a 1 foot chop. Got some hogs that day. Your boat would have been fine out there. Depending on the wind, you can drive to a launch on either side to get to calmer water. As for specifics, well, I got a tourney this weekend. I'll post some when we're done. I did get some good info at Jerry and Pat's seminar a week ago.
