Member Posts: 300 Location: Lincoln Park, Mi | Spent the good portion of the last year pondering one finder to the next. Almost got hooked on the big names, wanted an x-15 or 19 soooooo bad, but in the end my wallet had the final say. I think I'm set on an Eagle Seacharter 480DF. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=52499&hvar... Going once, going twice. If there's any reason I shouldn't buy this unit for $500, let me know now. Anyone know of a better deal or a special with a map chip included? $200 for a map chip??????? Geez. I about fell over. Any good deals on FreedomMaps™, and Navionics® Gold, Classic and HotMaps™ or the map create anywhere?

The unit is dual frequency, has a very nice chart plotter. It should be a great GPS and Sonar.

You would think after the original cost to make the first one, the copy cost would be minimal and the profit margin quit large even when selling at lower prices. I paid $150.00 for my Saginaw Bay chip for my Ratheon GPS and even though I love it, the sting takes a while to go away. ![]()

Member Posts: 300 Location: Lincoln Park, Mi | There's a little give and take each way. I sacrificed color for better resolution. Probably better for fishing the Detroit river with it''s junk and rocks, I mean intricate structure. My second choice was the x-15 for the 2-chip capability. Almost ended up with that anyways, but a little too much with the extras. I'm upgrading from a Hummingbird 200, so this is going to keep me satisfied and occupied for a while.

Mike: I just picked up the 330C, and I am impressed. The screen size is a compromise compared to the X18, but other than that, I believe that it compares very favorably.
