Subject: Fishing on 'Green Bay' - U.P. Michigan side

Hey guys, looking for a little advice. I am camping this weekend at Wells State Park in the U.P., and will be buying a few 24 hours licenses so the wife and I can get some fishing in. The park is located on 'Green Bay', 30 miles South of Escanaba, and need to know what type of fishing is in that area. I have plenty of bass/walleye/pike/musky gear, and just about everything else in between. Nightcrawlers? Minnows? Leeches? Plastics?

All suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,

Wooglin

Thanks for the tip.

Oh yeah, PS, I won't have a boat, so it will be limited to shore fishing. Our site is right on the water - sandy area I believe. (never been there before)

Thanks everyone!

It appears that this state park is located directly in Cedar River, so I guess that is a good thing. We were thinking more of sitting on the beach near our site, tossing out some bait, drinking some brews, and seeing what happens.

Any suggestions on bait/lure presentations? Lindy rigs? Crank baits? Standard hook & bobber?

Caught one small mouth, we fished the river 9from the wall) right off of Michigan HWY 35. Not a whole lot we could have done, just fished with nightcrawlers and leeches. Still was a great time.
