Regional Walleye Fishing -> Winnebago Walleyes -> WWA Winnebago

Well, it was a most beautiful time on the water today. My newly aquainted partner, Greg Karch aka walleyex, is certainly an entertaining individual who is, in my estimation, a very good fisherman.

Together we caught many walleyes, but only three of our five fished weighed for the tournament were up to snuff. It finished our effort in the 17th position out of 52 teams entered.

How and what and where and why has to be postponed for a bit, because we are fishing another WWA Tournament tomorrow. You know, us tournament guys think everyone will follow us to our spots. Kinda like the fever deer hunters get a week before the season starts!:-)

Please find below, a few pictures taken during pre-fishing and the weigh-in, for your viewing pleasure. Greg Karch is pictured talking to Gary Gray, who was at the docks helping anglers unload their catch. And the fella standing in his boat is a regular visitor to this site, Irishwebs.

That's a warning to all cormorants - come near the Winnebago Chain and you'll find yourself hanging from a tree! Hehehe

Naw, just a sight Greg Karch and I soaked in while casting cranks along a rocky area.

Again, the second day Greg and I caught alot of walleyes, but not quite as many and one less of the kind that counted. But it was another gorgeous day on the water absorbing the warm sun while pursuing our quarry.

Since there are so many tournaments the next few weeks, I don't want to give details of our adventure for fear someone might learn how to finish in the middle of the pack!

Look who helped unload our fish!

Rick,

Was that a five or six fish limit for the tournament? The weights are very impressive for the top teams either way. Congrats to all who fished it.
I fished this weekend for fun and had a middle of the pack success rate. Talked to a few people at the landing and sounds like the Mecury Nat. is going to be a real hum dinger if the weather holds.
Happy fishing to all

Same here WalleyeX, was a pleasure. Really do think you would make a very good team mate. A bit more pre-fishing and time to learn about each other's tendencies and bet we would click.

In thinking about how we did with only one pre-fishing day together, our finishes were quite good!:-)
