Location: Berlin, WI | 1996 is considered to be a very good spawning year. Was this due to high water in the rivers up the system? If so, does that place this year in that category? |

| Yup. I 've read reports saying that this year was a tremendous spawning success also. |

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Where did you read those reports (on the success of this years spawn)? Typically, the dnr fish biologists won't venture much of a guess until AFTER the trawler results are completed in the fall. |

| Brad- If I remember properly, it was in the Wisconsin Outdoor Newspaper, and I believe the article was quoting a WFT representative who said that this years spawning was a great success. I will look and see if I still have the paper laying around. It was not an actual DNR report. Dave S |

| Its pure speculation until the trawling surveys are done in august, september, and october. Until then your quess is as good as mine.
If someone is writing a article about this years spawn then they are just guessing.
Even though there were lots of fish up rivers the fry still have to survive all the other elements like the month of cold weather, including iced over marshes we had after the spawning process was complete.
From my experience on the rivers which is way more than the normal guy, the fish should have pulled off a decent hatch but no one will no for sure until the survey is complete.
Hope this helps |

Location: Appleton wi | I would have to guess the chances of good hatch was very very likely! But we'll have to see what the experts say on there survey's! |
