| High water fishing has it's +s and -s. It was actually one of my best bites since the spawn on pool 9 about a week ago. Fish were in current, and backwaters and when you found them,it was usually numbers, (caught almost completely on crank baits), but as water kept coming up the eyes/sauger scattered more and pool 9 slowed down. 4# 15 ouncer weighed in at Ace Weds night tourney and 24"er pictured were the highlights. Northern Pike were numerous through out this time period.
This last week has seen us move up in the Black River and target cleaner water and less flow. Three areas have been steady producers of nice 15- 23 inch walleye.... with jig and magnum flathead and 3-5 inch sucker doing the numbers thing... with crankbaits grabbing a few from time to time. 23 incher was caught by Neil a Bass customer on a spinnerbait. N.P. were also caught everyday topping out at 38 inches.
