Member Posts: 2393 Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | This post was on Walleye Central. Any truth to the rumor? ......... Outdoor 1st bought by..."... the Jazzy Marketing people, or at least that is what a fella I know at the Cleveland PWT said to me.Looks like the Walleye First camera guy has been doing video work for the lady who was fired by WC a couple of years ago. They are the ones with Jazzy marketing who did work for Keith and Gary's site.My bud is there on business and said that he heard it from another angler. The video guy for them seems to only hang out with the anglers who are associated with that marketing group and there is a bit of video with those guys on their site. The buzz from the anglers is that this guy is going to be working for them and not the other walleye site.Aren't these the same people who were handing out lollipops at the tournaments last year in plastic bags and putting them under your windshield wipers?

Member Posts: 1406 | Now Now Dennis, I know you better than that to be spreading rummors around!!! Hehehe, As you know with any small organization, words spread fast and most often are incorrect. Although the media coverage WF is getting done this week is AWESOME, Just check out the video of Steve Bohn "nearly" announcing to the walleye world he might be tying the knot! THAT WAS SOME GREAT COVERAGE FOR THE FIRST 2 DAYS! Like nothing done before. And some interviews on video of what is actually being said on the stage! What more could you ask for. If there is someone on WC spreadin rumors about anything it's probably just a little jealousy over there as the only discussion I have seen regarding the PWT was a slam for not having any coverage! WF is on top and doing a great job! Keep up the great work Troy! Good Luck Tyee

As a new visitor to this site, it seems like some of you like to attack Walleye Central quite a bit. I just dont get it. I think its a fine site. Quite unappealing.

Location: Rhinelander | I don't see anyone attacking WC at all, just Tyee commenting on the thread about OutdoorsFIRST selling to 'Jazzy Marketing'and some critical talk over there about the PWT coverage because Dave is not in Cleveland. 'Jazzy.' That's plain funny, especially to me, as there is an inside story there.

Member Posts: 1406 | Sorry New Visitor, But I spent many a long hours on WC over the years and have come to disagree with many of their views on their message boards. I still lurk in the corners there on occassion. The boys here do a much better job. I appreciate the input here from the people that know what there talking about and the policies regarding what they allow to be written. People should be brave enough to speak their mind with their real name and not have to worry about what others think! Thats just my opinion and should not be misconstrued as a slam towards WC in anyway as they also have some very interesting things to contribute, in this world of information the best site wins in my book! Actually, WC has cleaned it up, and, at the moment, is so clean I can smell the bleech! Really miss those 'salty' debates with Democrat and Tennesee Jed, even that sarcastic sob MiFish. Most of us kept it clean by keeping the debate to ideas, but there were a few that would take it to a personal level - and these (im)posters only had a mind to ruin that message board, not add another point of view. But now it's clean, just as this one normally is. The only constant in the equation; if you don't like one, or the other, there are (or will be) plenty more to choose from.

Member Posts: 30 | I've gotten to really like the boards over here as well, but from a technical / web design standpoint, this site is pretty incredible. The team here does a great job laying out a great, professional site using more advanced technologies than any of the other fishing sites that I have been to.

![]() Member Posts: 32 Location: shores of Indian lake, Ohio | In it's Hay-Day it/WC ruled for sure ... now in 2004, with the prolific amount of regional n' local I-msg boards, the members/users are spread thin across the I-Net with many sites of interest to visit for local detailed I-info... I seldom post on Walleye 1st, as it seems to be mostly regional on the msg boards with a heavy tourney slant, but visit here daily for the broad coverage features/info that 1st has become the leader/my opinion... my favs on wc @ present are strickly fishin' & boats n' motors... Thanks 1st ... for a Great site!!! ![]() PS ... I'm also a Capt Dan Groupie & follow him around the I-Net to read his sage threads ![]() Edited by Erie 7/23/2004 8:18 AM

Member Posts: 39 Location: Coatesville, PA | As far as W/C, I like the tough rules they go by over there, no nonsense or bickering. The rules are make and enforced. I'm new here and one of the things I noticed was the blatant disregard for the $150 rule on the swap board, with a number of them by a moderator. Posting of items over $150 went on for months with no moderator enforcing the rules. When posts on a couple items starting getting testy, they upped the dollar limit. I have no problem upping the limit, it's a good idea, but I think it was a disgrace by the board members and the moderators to let something like that go on. Kinda like going fishing with a guy and he takes one over the limit, " Well I'm just taking an extra one today cause I didn't get my limit yesterday" Bullcrap! If you make rules, enforce them, and expect your members to follow them!

Location: Rhinelander | First, welcome to WF, Shellback! I allowed several items on the BS&T board to post that were over the limit, but not automobiles or private planes. I received emails asking if it was OK, and told them to go ahead. The argument started when an item was posted without a max or min price, and assumptions were made. It was my decision, and was more or less a test to see how items that are so common to the Walleye world like trolling motors and sonars sold there. Most wouldn't take out a $30 classified to sell an item they intend to make $25 on, so we changed policy to meet our user's needs, which you can expect in the future. Taking a fish over limit is against the law. Big difference there.

Member Posts: 51 | If O1st has been sold....where does that land me? Was I part of the deal? Was I a throw in, or a major point in negotiations? I really wanted to re-negotiate my contract too..... I hope whoever bought O1st has a place like the hideout for when I want to step in holes in the ice, fish in the rain without my boots, or go on dates with North country women who will eventually totally wigout. Boy O Boy Shellback, you are thinking WAY too hard. What happened is the board responding to the needs of it's members and solving a situation for the good of everyone. To link poaching fish to posting something over a dollar limit on a message board is out there.

Member Posts: 39 Location: Coatesville, PA | First of all, I wasn't aware that the Boss had allowed certain individuals who had contacted him to post things that were over the limit. He has now explained that. When I see a regulation regarding posting, such as the specific max of $150, I figure that's the rules and I follow them. I'm not trying to compare poaching to going over the $ limit, I was trying to point out rules are rules, and hopefully are followed and enforced. If not, why even bother having them. The swap boards on sites are a great thing, I've found lots of deals on them. I'd hate to see them terminated because people can't follow the rules. I'm glad the limit was increased, it makes more stuff readily available to folks.

Member Posts: 874 Location: Neenah, WI | To begin with, I hope the site hasn't been sold. I like it here. Now Slamr- You know how it goes. When the plantation is sold- the slaves go with it!!!!!!!!!! As far as the buy/sell board goes. I think the $150.00 limit is/was a little low. That's just my opinion. I hope we all have a great weekend.

Member Posts: 376 Location: Menominee MI, In Da UP Eh? | Howdy! ![]() This post is mostly for our newer friends here, please bear with me. Outdoors First Media is not in competition with anyone, nor are we trying to be. We do not hold ourselves against anyone as a measure of success, nor should one suspect that ever will happen. That being said, the way any other site conducts their business is their issue and really no bother to us here. If we get hammered elsewhere, we are big boys we can take it and will react appropriately and civil mannered. Also, please don't judge the size and popularity of this site by the message board traffic. That is actually a very small part of this place. Sorry if this seems as a rant, it is not the intent of my post. And once again, welcome all! ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Nofish 7/23/2004 10:00 PM

Member Posts: 19 Location: Maumee Ohio | Ok well the answer to the question is was this site sold? Also except for the pro stuff, how does this site compete with WC? I mainly use WC for local fishing reports on Erie. Rarely will you see reports on Erie on this site unless a few very few folks that I know do the posting. I think if more reports on Erie were given then more folks that fish Erie would be glad to visit this site also. Just a tip to the new owner if there is one. I relise that location is the main key here however I would like to see more reports on Erie. Just my little 2 cents.

Member Posts: 3899 | I would like to see more regional fishing reports. too. I think that a Great Lakes forum would be a welcome addition, and would bring some valuable support along with giving WE a home for his wonderful reports. As far as Slamr being part of the negotiations? I'm sure it went some thing like this. hehehe Buyer: What about Slamr? Do we HAVE to take him? Seller: Absolutely! I don't want him. Buyer: Is this a deal breaker? Seller: Absolutely! Buyer: Keep your website, then! OF members: In unison. Yipppeeee! OF stays the same, even if we are stuck with SLamr! LOL

Location: Rhinelander | NO, the site wasn't sold. We WELCOME reports from anywhere walleyes are caught, and would like to see more reports from everywhere as well. If you are an Erie angler or a Walleye angler from ANYWHERE, feel free to post reports as often as you would like! We don't 'compete' with anyone. WalleyeFIRST provides industry, tournament, and angling news from all over the country updated every day, including video coverage of events 4 seasons. Providing that information is our primary focus, one we are continually improving upon. I can promise you this: You Aint seen NOTHING yet!

Member Posts: 23 | I just have to say that I think WF does an outstanding job covering the professional tournamets. Somthing that WC has not made a priority. Theres notthing better than being able to watch interviews of the professional anglers during the event. The coverage is second to none. I still belive that both WC and WF have their own niche. As NWWalleyeguys stated, the website here at WF is state of the art you wont see many fishing sites like this one. To use the technology that we have today is awesome, Im happy to see it being used here. Keep up the good work guys.
