Member Posts: 1406 | A whole new era of boat design, performance, and innovation," That's the description Ranger ® Boats officials have given to an all-new series of boats that will be unveiled to the public on Friday, August 13, 2004, at the FLW Tour Championship, Boat and Outdoor show in Birmingham, Ala. Watch it live on line! Looks exciting can't wait to see it, Does anyone know if there is a Walleye boat in this new product line? Good Luck Tyee

The Comanche line is the 500 model numbers which are the bass boats. It may trickle down to the Fisherman line, which is the 600 model numbers.

Well let’s just wait and see now shall we? I'd be willing to bet it is the VEC technology. Genmar has been playing with that technology for a while. Several of their (i.e.: Genmar) play boats have been made this way for some time and Ranger has been making fenders and lids and such (may have actual items not right but they are using it on the 5 and 6oo series already on smaller parts). Too if it is the VEC technology, it will make the boats lighter and stronger as well as faster. But what will it do to the price? Ahhhhhh....there then is the rub! The curiosity should be whether or not the hulls are any different design (Ranger has pioneered that in decades past) or if the price goes up, down or stays the same. One note, unless the boys and girls in Flipping have figured out how to do polyflake on a VEC process, they will be solid gel colors like the Genmar VEC hulls are now.

Member Posts: 714 | VEC technology is good and from what I've heard, reliable. BUT..... with the VEC system, they can not make a metal flake boat anymore, period! They have been experimenting with it for some time now, and it CAN NOT be done. Soooooo, when they switch over to the VEC system, Rangers will only be available in solid colors, and not even 2 tones will be available. You need to understand the VEC system. It is very simular to the system used to make agricultural tanks. All the materials are put into a mold and it is then spun in a centrafuge so that it forms to the mold it is put into. Also, the pricing on the 2005's is unbelievable!!! A friend of mine who runs a Ranger, and works for them, and has for many years, told me that just last week, he went into the computer and priced out his 2004, V620, with the 2005 pricing, and it came out, boat, motor(Evinrude 225), and trailer, with those options he has today, at just over $52,000!! Maybe that is why I've been hearing under the table, for some time, that Genmar has Ranger up for sale! I guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens.

Member Posts: 540 Location: Milw, WI | GMG, you are correct.( just a pre-view shot) And the Rangers most likely will not be made with the new system. As it will be hard to get anyone to pay that kind of money for a boat.( some will) And you can not get it the way you want it. Looks may out weigh seaworthy ness.

Hot Damn! That's alot of money for a boat for sure! This will price many out of the market for a big fast fishing boat. Just hope that those young'uns don't get sucked into the glory of owning one of these beauties in exchange for the next twenty years of their income.
