I know this isn't about walleyes, so bear with me. Just got back from three days on my favorite fall King Salmon River, the Pere Marquette. Even though I sold my driftboat and my Federal Forestry Service guides license some 4 years ago, after 15 years of guiding on this river. I can still legally guide for Kings on the lower river, away from Federal land and launching ramps under my Coast Guard license and my personal liability insurance limitations. And even though I don't aggressively advertise this service anymore, some very old river clients of mine still insist on our annual pilgrimage for Mr. King. At this early stage of the salmon spawning game, it can at times be hit and miss. But with recent rains of biblical proportions on the West side of our State, We hit it right on the head. Heres a few pictures from the weekend. Try to keep the drule off the PC screen please.

Say Dan, I've come down with a bad case of broken ankle, and can't work anymore. What are the chances of me coming over for a day or two of fishing with someone, besides myself, who can run the show. I'm literally going stir crazy over here, and need to get on the water, and my dear sweet wife refuses to take me! I'll even wear a life jacket if you insist.

Ribs are on me!

I'll be honest with ya Jack. The walleye Bay Bite has been in the toilet since after the MWC tourney. I've canceled 3 charters and transfered 3 others myself, simply telling the clients that the fishing was dead and leaving it up to them. The river walleye bite won't start till around mid-October. The only bite is the river Kings on the other side of the State. And with the high water, I give them about a week to 10 days in the lower river, then they will be well upstream in Drift boat territory. There might be fish in the Saginaw sooner, depending on the weather.

Unknown, a better place for your question would be under the Winnebago section of the forum........just an FYI for future reference.

The limit for walleyes on Lake winnebago is 5 fish with no size limit. You can not keep any saugers, please watch carefully for the saugers as it seems there are a few more of them swimming around this year.

Good luck
