![]() Member Posts: 2680 Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Just got back from Franks Great Outdoors, trying to duplicate the spoons my buddy outfished me with at Oscoda the other day/night. His are the flutter type spoons that are getting harder and harder to find anymore. You know the type. Those cheap/light weight stamped, black market type spoons, that used to be manufactured at a few local GM plants during lunch breaks and unsanctioned overtime hours. Say what you want, but these (as light as air) knock-offs did catch pleanty of salmon in their day, and seem to now posses some of that same charm for fall walleyes. Anyway, no luck finding anything like them at Franks. But did see something else that puffed me up with some pride. I was looking to buy a few more Reef Runners in the Monkey Puke and Fried Chicken colors for both a possible Huron Ohio trip or another trip back to Oscoda. While looking at the rack I noticed a new color by RR that looked a lot like the (Chartreause/Purple/White Herringbone) color Winning Streak, (a color that I've used and liked very much on the Saginaw Bay) and one that Dave Storm so generously named after my charter service, "Walleye Express". Grabbed it off the shelf and lo and behold, it's named "Walleye Express" as well. I think I'd rather have that humble tribute, than a street named after me any day. And thank you to both Reef Runner and Dave Lures for this generous tribute. Edited by walleye express 9/25/2004 8:34 PM

Location: Rhinelander | It's pretty cool having a lure namesake. I have a couple in the Muskie world. One is named after my friend's and my match fishing team, the Walking Bulls (named so from the old joke). The bait is called a Wabull. Congrats on the lure namesake, sir!

Member Posts: 714 | Dan, So when I come out to fish the Bay and people ask me what my program is, I'll just tell them, "I'm going to pull Walleye Express about 80 feet behind the boat on some boards"!! 2 questions buddy, How deep do you dive, and how long can you hold your breath? When are you going to start marketing the "Signature Series"? You can do the sportshow curcuit signing them for an extra $5 a pop. All kidding aside, thats really neat. The only thing anyone will ever name after me would be an anchor, just so everybody could have the chance to throw it out of the boat!! Edited by JLDII 9/25/2004 7:07 PM

I'm biting my lip wanting to answer the Dive and Breath holding question in a way that would get past the sights censors. But when considering our particular cases for getting professional credits, even with my 20 years doing the charter/guiding thing. I will always bow to you and others that are full time guides, setting the true standards, while trying to etch out a living in the fishing sports as a vocation, versus my own endeavor as a serious (break even) money making hobby. Ya see, unlike a few others, I know what I see in the mirror. Edited by walleye express 9/26/2004 9:20 AM
