October 12th., "bassin' day, nice Smallm"

The goals were catching Walleye's and intentions were good as we got on the waters this morning at 7:45am. Water surface temps. running at 55' to 58' throughout the day with the warming temps. in the afternoon.
Winds were light, variable and then came from the south as predicted.
Both Eric and Ed from Reedsburg, Wisconsin are good "jigging" fisherman from the southern lakes of Wisconsin and wanted after Walleye using our favorite method of Redtail Chubs and lead-head jigs. We worked numerous breaklines on both the east and west shorelines on the upper and lower bay.
Results were not as expected but fun!!!!!
Having a few Walleyes on and lost either at boat side or after the set Smallmouth Bass seemed to be the fish to work.
Pretty good strikes and lot's of jumping out of the water and we did land some nice Bass today.
Northern Pike also showed us they were active also giving some fun strikes and action.
Overviewing the day and talking with several anglers since sitting down having supper and writing this report told me some catches of Walleye did exist today but spotty reports throughout the bay.
Some weather is predicted to move in over the nite time hours so we'll see if this perks the fishing.
Here are several photo's of todays Smallmouth Bass,
the larger Bass that Eric caught went 22 inches and a bit over 5-pounds. Ed's Bass a couple pounds but fun,
it's all about having fun and making those few bites productive ones.
