Subject: FLW BOAT/MOTOR RULES

I just received a FLW Bass kit today in the mail. Why they send this packet to RCL persons is beyond me. Anyway the first thing I went to in the rules was the HP ratings and it looks like they changed the wording of the section. It drops the US Coast Gaurd plate restrictions. Now all boats must have a "Maximum Capacities" (or comparably titled) Placard affixed by the manufacturer. With FLW changing the rule I think They are admitting resposibility in the disqualification incedent.

dont think they are admitting resposibility, but trying to cover any loose ends to prevent any bad press. i agree with the flw on their call to dq him,but it could of been handled a little more professional.

If they didn't think his boat qualified for the prise money, they should not have passed his boat at inspection the mornings of that tourney, or any of the other tourneys he had fished prior to that tourney! They inspect every boat before take off. Livewells, kill switches, life jackets, fire extinguishers, saftey equipment, etc. When they passed his boat through inspection and allowed him to fish, they accepted his boat as being compliant to the rules. If they insist this sticker is important enough that someone would be DQ'd for not having it, it is important enough for the FLW to check BEFORE they allow him compete, as they do all other safety related items.

The FLW will lose this case if it goes before a court of law.

Ya know, just because your boat tag says it's rated for a certain motor, it doesn't evidently mean it is.

Is it just me, or have any of the rest of you noticed the FLW watch dogs are being pretty quiet on this subject lately!!

I can't wait to see Trisha Jacobs the next time she comes into my reastaurant! I've known her for many years now, and she knows I will give her a hard time about this fiasco!!
