| I have a 20" Lowe Deep Vee backtroller with a 85 hp Evinrude (tiller). Its a fishing Machine!! A tiller model has great boat control, You can get in and out of tight dangerous spots with ease. Then of couse, you have all the room in the world. This boat was design by Lowe Industries for big water like lake Erie. One other thing is comfort. in a tiller model, you ride in the back of the boat near the motor, so you dont take the wave pounding and you get a smoother ride. Two disavantages are in certain conditions you get wet because of the over spray. The other is in the time when you take off to when you get on plane, in that breaf moment, it is hard to see what is in front of you. I love a big tiller. Tiller Models are hard to find. But they do hold a good resale value because they are hard to find. My boat is a 1992 and I have been offered from fisherman, many more times the amount then I paid for it when it was new. I say get a big tiller and you cant go wrong. |
