Wow,
I'm shocked that it's 7am on Jan. 1st and I'll be the first person to post in "05".

I hope everyone enjoyed New Year Eve. My wife and I did the usual. Steak and shrimp with homemade fries, a bottle of wine and a good movie in the VCR.

Does anyone else do the same thing every year? Any traditions in your house?

Yup, Sue and I get a big bag of peel and eat shrimp, and another of jumbo shrimp we boil. We grill some venison round steaks and bake some taters, and open a couple beers. My son and his wife come over for dinner, this year for the first New Year he's seen, their son Cole, too. I had been out on the ice for a few hours in that crazy west wind we had here yesterday, so was pretty tired. When it hit Midnight Eastern, that was good enough for everyone.

Party animals, we are!

The fishing was excellent though, I iced 4 pike from 35.25 to 42" and a couple eaters. Three big girls went back, one was gill hooked, so three nice pike ended up on the cleaning table. It's Pike in the pan tonight!

Happy New Year, every one. May the wind always be just right for a good walleye chop, and many ten pounders hit the net in '05!

Usually my wife and I do the "Steak and Lobster" thing at home.... But, this year, my 19 yr old daughter begged us to host a party for her and her friends... So Joanne and I cooked and served for 17 College Freshmena nd Sophmores... They ate, partied and slept over... looked like a battlefield when I finally got up and walked around...

For the first time in years, I was awake at 12:00 Central... we used to do the Eastern thing too... Chicago had great frieworks on TV!

Happy New Year to you all!

Football!! My wife lets me just sit and watch football today. She is a real trooper! She makes black-eyed peas for Good Luck, and made me and the girls (I have two daughters) a lot of delicious munchies to plese out tummies. I am hopeful for a really fantastic 2005, and am very grateful for a very busy 2004.

I can't believe it's already a new year. Best wishes to all of you, I hope the fishing season is the best ever for everyone! One of my resolutions is to get out and fish MORE!
