Now tell the truth Beav, did you know they were coming or did your better half and I fool you big time? As far as Waaaayyy up North. The fartherest I've ever been is when you drove and those guys are the true inventors of the handline reels. As far as fishing goes John, if the weather keeps doing what it is now we should be able to wear shorts. Matter of fact as soon as you left for your little get away things started warming up dramatically. So if you come back and it gets cold your gonna be the FIRST one to go water skiing on the river this coming year. I'm gonna take a day off and actually go fishing tomorrow for fun. Hutch

Well Hutch, I too have experienced that dreaded "John is here and so is the lousy weather." Or "John has returned and so has the lousy weather." Heck, why else would a Florida Guide cancel the day outing with John due to the weather being "too cold?" mike

I gotta jump on the bash John bandwagon. Every time he comes to pool 14 to fish, the fish get lockjaw. Weather has not been an issue, but I think the fish head for pool 13 when he gets here!

Yup Hutch, you and her had me doing more fishing for hints than fishing for fish these past few months. Kinda hard to wrap those weights without putting a warning label on them to wear steel toe boots.
Honestly, Taylor was as excited as I was. We were just going through the Bass Pro Shops catalog that came, and if she had it her way, we'd have another 200 stick baits.
Maybe my employer will "let me go" at just the right time.......I could use 2 months on The River for therapy.
See you soon.

Yeah ,one thing for sure NO one can ever say i'm a good weather only fisherman. It's not my fault my job is testing foul weather suits. HEHEHE The kiss of death has been following me on almost every tourney the last 2 years,so I went to a witch doctor here in florida and 6 shots later he said I was cured and make sure you pay the tab on the way out. I'm confident things will get better. Oh I almost forgot ,he also said the cubs will win the world series this year. Hutch ,,,,,I got my fingers crossed. John

Ok Rocky, I just came from the weather channels 10 day forcast. Every day between now and next Thursday is above freezing for the high. Then Friday it's the low 20's for a high and single digits for a low. Anybody out there wanna guess what day John and his partner are showing up to fish. Either go back and see your voo-doo witch doctor again or bring your water skis buddy. Yea Rooster I know what your saying there too on the fish migrating. This is a pretty good ( Bash John) thread. I'm glad he's down South so he can't come over here and slap me too. Hutch B.T.W. we fish Genoa yesterday and my buddy took a nice limit of eyes and saugers home to eat. But there is about a 6 to 8 inch drop off the ice to hit the water with your trailor. So unless someone spuds out or salts the heck out of the shelf ice on the ramp it's limited to small boats right now. There are guys standing on the ice almost directly in the middle of the channel below the dam. I don't know how there doing and mind you I love catching eyes but MAN OH MAN I just can't imagine that ice out there being that thick. But I could be wrong too.

AAAHHH MAN ,This is getting bad. I think i'm not going to make any plans to fish anymore. This way if I go on a whim, I will fool mother nature and beat her at her game. Do bass guys have this same problem??? Mabey I will start bass fishing. The walleye guys will be happy because there will be no more blow days.

I,m hoping I can change that dark cloud that seems to follow you. The last tourn. we fished was sunny and about 85 degrees. As far as this weekend goes I,m still crossing my fingers that we wont get as much as they say. If that cloud stays with you then everybody knows who to blame. Everybody knows that if you are in the tourn. to bring all their gear to cover the 4 seasons. Hutch you were right, Johns witch doctor was a fake.

Ya know guys the more snow I see flying here as I type the more I kinda like it. I'm sure if we get more then a few inches Lynxville will freeze back up. If we get the 6 to 10 like there calling for it will probably freeze up Genoa for a few days. That means we'd be stuck in the house. Lets see, I got around 500 cranks that have to be prep for painting. There's about 600 bass jigs to be poured. My pourer's won't do them. I can't say why cause Zach would kick me out of here for repating those words. About a bazzillion bucktails to tie. New hooks to be put on all my stick baits. Need I go farther. Come on baby, SNOW.

Oh boy. I dont know about those bass jigs either. I gotta a thing against them. 500 cranks for painting,,,,, Boy I cant wait for that, getting bloodied from hook sticks, that also sounds like fun. Tying bucktails sound like fun, for the first doz or so. Mark,, mabey we should rethink about this trip and go to the fishmarket for walleyes. Hutch is starting to scare me. He also told me his wood pile in getting low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
