Cormorant diet is subject of study.........

In case you missed it..............There's a nice article on the Main Page of WalleyeFIRST about the Cormorant diet. I was shocked to read the small turkey reference!!

Dennis...I think their study sample size was just too small. Shooting 400 wasn't nearly enough. They should probably just shoot 4000 this year and see if that helps!

I'm with ya' Jimmy!

A more extensive study should occur with ten times the sample

Off Kellys Island on Erie I see these birds diving in 30 fow and more...I hope they are eating more Gobies than Walleye. Locals seem to think they eat alot of smallies..but they are working deeper water than is holding most of the smallies for that time of year. The survy said Smallies were not a target...wonder if that changes from one body of water to the next.

i dont know up to what size fish they can eat but i would imagine they eat what ever is readily available of a size they can swallow so at times i am sure walleye salmon perch bass and other young or small fish will make up a majority of there diet.
