There may be a million fishing subjects, techniques and rigging variables we could discuss at length, and maybe even argue their pro's and con's, given the waters geographic location or other area specific dynamics. But I'll bet nobody has a clue what type music walleyes like on different bodies of water. Well, I found out in the last two days on the Saginaw Bay ice, that they do indeed prefer Country Music, especially when feeding.

Yesterday when we did so well on the Bay, one of my clients brought along a cheap/compact transistor radio. And even though not what I personally call (must have) equipment, I tolerated both the music and his preferred station, which was country. In the course of the day we worked out a deal where he ended up giving me this radio to keep, so today when I arrived at the same two holes at 12:30pm with a friend to fish, I turned on the tunes. 70's and Oldies of course, and not country.

Well, we started out marking fish like crazy like the day before, but no takers. Almost two hours later, (still fishless) I had the idea to switch channels to the Country station like the day before. 10 minutes later the FL-8 lit up and BANG. Long story short I went 3 for 5 in the next hour. Quit early and was back to shore before dark.

Oh.

I forgot to tell you all the name of the song that was on when I hooked the first walleye yesterday. It was "Save a horse, ride a cowboy"

I changed it to "Save a horse, ride a Walleye"

Dan,
Went up to the river Saturday, right by Independence bridge, I got skunked, my partner got 3 the biggest being 8#'s.
Still looking forward to tagging along one day with ya on the bay. Would like to ice one before the seasons done.
Rob
