Well, we're 4 weeks into the new year, and I was wondering how many of us are keeping their New Year's resolutions? Here are mine. Let me know how I am doing:

1. No more arguing about football.
2. Lose 40 lbs. (Down 15 so far)
3. Workout at least 4 times a week. (No problem, so far)
4. Take my kids fishing more this year. (Heading out on the ice for the first time tomorrow)
5. Fish with Shep this year.
6. Work on fishing tackle and make sure EVERYTHING is ready by March 15th. (I'm on it)

Gave up on them years ago. If things go right I should be back on the water in a few weeks, so I have been also getting ready for another season. 6 tourneys between march and april , there wont be to much time to mess with this stuff.

John, one of these years I'm going to have to come down there and fish the Illinois. I should add that to the list. I used to live no more than 2 hours away and I never fished it.

Good luck with those resolutions Jerry. I've been pretty good at keeping mine from a couple years ago, and that was to never make any more resolutions, and to quit smoking. Well, I haven't made anymore resolutions since then, and May 15th will be 2 years since I quit smoking.

We'll measure your success with those resolutions (namely #1) come the fall!!

Hopefully you will be successful at all of them. Good Luck!

1. Go fishing for fun more often. Did it today with a couple buddies. 2 of em around 7, 3 around 5 and a good 15 from 16 to 18 inches and there still ALL swimming.
2. Try to lose more than what Jerry intends to lose. HA, yea right.
3. Stop buying so many darn crankbaits. I'm screw already. Well one out of 3 ain't bad for this ole man.

Jerry, The river now is touch and go with a meltoff comming this week. I`m going to TRY to get out Feb 19-20th to do some prefishing and try a couple of things new this year. To be honest ,fall is a better pig fest time than the spring. Take a look at the last IWT there in November. Lets try it then.
