Looking through the tackle box last night and stumbled across a handful of these, in both shallow and deep diver. Wondering if any of you have caught anything other than the occasional suicidal sheepshead on them while fishing the Winnebago chain. If so, care to share any tips as to when/where they worked. Otherwise, it's probably time to free up some tacklebox space......

Thanks in advance.

I think you should sell them all to someone and replace them with a nice assortment of KA-BOOM Nitro Shiners in both the shallow and deep running models!

You'll be glad you did.

Rob I would say it is an honest answer unless your going to challenge that.

The Renosky lures are outstanding producers on the Eastern basin of Lake Erie. I hope to be trying some of the Kaboom baits this year also. They look awesome.

I remember buying some of the shallow divers a few years ago when Renosky became the rage. I have done alright with them I suppose. I liked running the 3" Purple/Pink or Natural Perch on 3 Way rigs...

They are not my goto baits or anything, but something I will experiment with from time to time...

YEP, I too have had limited success with Renofsky's. They are not a confidence bait for me at all. Are they they still in business? Gary Gray used to promote them, but he appears to have joined the Ka-Boom ranks. WM

They are not our go to bait, but we have caught fish on them when nothing else worked during one Bago tourney, ran to F&F to get more, only to find them out of favor the next day. So it goes. Don't toss them. Give them a try in tandem with other baits and maybe they may be the bait of the day.
Take care,

I've used the glows on LBDN w/leadcore and some on the Western Basin of Erie with fair success. Not as you say, a go to bait but they do catch fish and I hope to give them a little more work this spring over there.

Ther are excellent cranks on the great lakes. I really like the newer prism colors, as well as the Fire Glo colors in the larger shallow diver in which I had success out of Cleveland last summer off leadcore. One trick is to remove the front hook and add larger wide gap hooks to the other two. I know that they are dynamite on the Eastern basin of Lake Erie also. Try snaking a crawler from the back hook as well while trolling them, you may be surprised. I don't see why they wouldnt work on 'Bago. Give them a shot.
