Subject: When to fish the Wolf in spring?

Hey all,
Just looking for information on when I should try to take off from work to fish the Wolf this spring? I have to ask in advance for the time off so I was thinking the last week in March or the second week in April. It's about a 21/2 hour drive for me to Fremont and I will only have two days to fish, so I would like to make them somewhat productive. Last year we didn't catch any keepers but a few 21 inch females that we released to spawn.
Thanks for any info that will help me make an educated decision.

Weather and ice-out are the keys to when to fish the Wolf. Stay tuned here as we move closer to ice-out before you pick a week. I fish further up river near New London so I can't help you around Fremont.

Good Luck

If I had to plan that far in advance. I'd shoot for a weekend closest to april 15th. That is generally the peak of the spawn. But will vary from year to year based on water levels and temps.

Good Luck

Are you looking to catch fish or are you looking to catch BIG fish? this will help with what time you will want to be here. And remember that there is no such thing as "no keepers caught" on this system, as there is no size limit.
