Location: palatine IL | I always seem to do good on eyes late April into May, but anyone got any tips on jig colors, size, and water depth to look for to catch some eyes just after ice out. Should I look for deeper water or concentrate on shallow flats. I am not looking for any specific spots or anything like that just what other anglers have had success with in the past. email me if you would like. thanks for all of the ice conditions updates you guys are a great help. |

| jigs, on inside bends, less then 8 ft of water. Anchor up and hope you're on the right bend at the right time. Night fishing is best some years, morning bite the best some others. Can catch fish all day if you're patient and in the right spot on the highway to the spawning grounds. |

| Try using stinger hooks until the water warms enough. Say above 44 or 45. |
