Has anyone been out that has a decent report? I am stuck down in Platteville for college and will be home this weekend, I was just wondering if anyone has been having luck anywhere. Lets try to keep this thread to fishing reports on the Wolf. Thanks!

Made it out this weekend and had a blast! We only caught 11 Walleyes, but 6 were between 21" and 25.5"! The rest were males between 11" and 15". All the females were spawned out, which isn't too surprising considering the water was 53 degrees when I put in on Friday afternoon! The water warmed up quick this year, and the fish could get into the marses, so things went relatively fast, but there are still females with eggs to be had, but not for long. Now we need to hope for some rain to keep the fry in the water, since the river is starting to drop now. We caught all the females on the raft, the best time for us was between midnight and 3am, go figure. Good luck out there guys, keep the reports coming, and memeber to release all the big females, it will keep the systems future bright! Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Fished the wolf 8th-10th. Caught spawned out females from the edges of the marshes on Friday south of New London casting jiigs and minnows into shallows with a fairly fast retrieve to stay out of weeds. Many boats in the area. That bite was gone by Saturday but found fish further south verticle jigging some stretches that I got from Doc's CD. Sunday we went to the Rat river-Poygan area and caught small males but I did see others catching some big females. We missed many fish because I'm hard headed about using stingers. Green and orange were our colors and I couldn't get anything going on plastic. Beautiful weekend and I have a couple fish to treat my turkey hunting hosts.

My dad was out on the raft last night and caught 4 Walleyes, two spawned out females (24", 26"), and two males, one was milking and the other spawned out. Our raft is below the cut-off and above wielands landing in Mukwa. The other rafts were also catching them last night, so they are coming back through as we speak. Go get em guys! Please keep the reports coming! Lance

Went out tues by devils elbow. Had one dandy on, got off about six feet from the boat(got excited and let her come out of the water) and missed a few more. No fish landed. Went Wed. night by the Little Wolf. Anchored about 6p and stayed till 12. 5 fish boated, 7 more on and a few more missed. Started with rigs and jigging. Got 2 (12 and 23 inchers), then we got the bright Idea to switch to raps and thundersticks on the Wolf River rigs. Boated 3 more between the other two in size and missed a couple. One break off. Awsome night on the river. Perfect weather and cold beer. Throw in some decent fishing and I call that worth the 2 hour drive.

Well, I fished my first Wolf River Walleye Tournament this past weekend, ended up in 15th place with 4lbs 13oz. We caught around 15 Walleyes in the tournament, but only four hit the 15" mark, with one at 16.5". 11lbs won the tournament, all males. The big fish was a 23" male! This weekend was a zoo on the river, but for the most part everyone seemed to be courteous to each other. The bite was early for everyone. We had 3 fish in our first drift, and then less from there on out. The fish were hitting pretty aggresively, we just didn't get any size on Saturday. There are still many limits to be had on the wolf, just remember to keep your jig vertical, and don't forget to try some nightcrawlers! Good Luck

Anybody have a recent report? Did the cold front shut them down?

Fished the Fort Fremont Walleye Tournament this weekend, overall the fishing was tough, we managed 5 Walleyes and 5 Whitebass all day. 7.6lbs won the tournament, which I thought was pretty low, but with the conditions, it was understandable. The bite should be picking back up on the Wolf now, as the males continue to leave the river. They are still getting limits of males up in New London, so it will be a good week or two yet of decent Walleye fishing. Did anyone else fish the tournament this weekend?
