Which of the 2 brands in the spinning models do you think is better? Looking to buy one of the 2 but want to know the pros and cons. Not really set on any price range.

Thanks,
Mike

I have both and like both equally. I would probably tip my hat to the Sahara 1500 that I am using though. Extremely smooth and great drag system for fighting the bigger river fish.

I would say go with daiwa's. I've never had a problem with any daiwa spinning or baitcasting reel that i've owned in the past 5 years, however my experience with shimano has been about the opposite, nothing but problems. If it were me i'd buy a daiwa no doubt.

I use only Shimano spinning reels. Stradics ,Symetres and saharas. I think they are the best made reels today! On the other hand I use only Daiwa baitcasting reels, I think they are better than the Shimano there.
