Sounds like Dale is getting beat up because he is trying to have a "FUN" tournament. Too bad.

Dale, send me an application form.........I'm in!

Lots of options on this one folks........ Dale is not making you keep and kill anything! The final choice is always yours. Release it, don't enter the tournment, put a slot on the tournament restricting fish up to 22", restrict the total to 4 fish, have a fish fry that evening at bar with fish killed(I'll cook), have a live release, only allow one fish over 25"..........

Or just participate if you feel okay with the existing rules and have fun. If not, don't enter.

It appeared that someone thought satan was involved with the planning because of the possibility that the weigh-in is at the bar to sell a few more beers. Boy that's a real revelation Why do you think the bars around the lake have tournies.............Nothing wrong with making an extra buck or too.

Knowing you Dale, you're doing this to have fun. Good for you. Nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism. Just don't beat him up too bad boys.

The following is quoted from the DNR permit:

Anglers are responsible for their catch. For those anglers wishing to release their fish, the weigh-

in area should be arranged to minimize handling time and stress. If plastic bags are used for the weighin process, total time in bag is not to exceed 2 minutes.

Anglers may release fish back to the water at their own discretion. No fish in poor condition should be released. (i.e. if the fish cannot maintain itself in the water it is not suitable for release) Multiple release points should be used. Fish should be scattered over the lake. Instruction should be given to anglers at the tournament meeting so that some head north and others south. Release points should be over deeper water or near cover and out of the current. no fish are to be "dumped off the dock" at the weigh-in site.

This is a bar tournament. There is no electricity available at the landing. By July 30 the water temp could be nearly 80 degrees, making release questionable at best. The DNR might not even allow it. This year, I'll try to start the weigh-in at the bar immediately. That way you can put your fish back in the livewell with some ice and aerate them.

Our tournament is meant to be a fun outing for friends and family. Some of these folks don't fish the larger tourneys and this gives them a chance for some friendly competition and the oppurtunity to add to their skills. All anglers are welcome.

Dale, many people are complaining about this and that on this certain thread, but I would like to say that my brother and I think you run a fine tournament. For the record, I would like to say after stopping at a local establishment I was told you thought you knew who was giving you a rough time on this thread. Not the case, I can guarantee you it is not that person!!! So with that being said I will see you in July to defend my title, with your brother.. Thanks Jason..

LOL Jason!!!!!! You little rat, I'm gonna get ya for that!! I don't know which one of us should be more insulted, but seeing as how you catch all the fish, Romey is lucky to have you along.

Shep, On about May 1 I'll post entry info. The bar will be closed for a week and a half starting Sat. while the owner is on vacation. After that I'll have entry forms down there.

Entry forms are available at Paynes Point bar and Romey's bar in Oshkosh.

Nolly, there's always room for you and the shark hunter.

I can't find the list from last year but I think the winners had about 15 lbs. with second place an eyelash behind.

If your concern is the fish then bring some ice and cool your fish during the wait to weight-in.

Eye Lunker- We know all about that!!!!!

Thanks Dale.
