Here is something strange I've noticed. Wasn;t the FLW always promoted as the most lucrative? Well since the new payouts that truly reward the sponsored anglers only they have dropped. Look at the Green Bay tourney. They had 133 pros. The PWT has a max 120 pros. The pay for 1-10 at the FLW Green Bay minus the bonus money for those who purchase the sponsor products are as follows: 1- 37,000 2- 18,500 3- 11,250 4- 8,550 5- 6,700 6- 5,700 7- 4,700 8- 4,200 9- 3,700 10- 3,200 PWT standard payout is: 1- 64,000 (including boat and motor package) 2- 20,000 3- 13,000 4- 11,000 5- 10,000 6- 9,000 7- 8,000 8- 7,000 9- 6,000 10- 5,000 Kind of interesting.

Location: Rhinelander | There is no question the FLW is primarily a Ranger/Evinrude event. That's how the payouts are structured; if one runs the Sponsor's equipment(fairly strong incentive), one reaps the rewards. The payout structure is up-front information for all the contestants, so everyone knows what they are fishing for. The PWT structure is sponsor driven as well, if one wins, one wins cash AND sponsor's products.

That's true Steve, but the difference is you get the same money regardless of what product you run in the PWT. Some of the FLW sponsor pay large amounts of contingency money making it more financially rewarding for the owners of certain sponsors. Not a good or bad thing here, just pointing out that the FLW is not really the place to make big money, unless you own certain sponsored products. Of course, the PWT sponsors like Lund and Mercury could do the same things for their anglers by paying big contigency money, but they choose not to reward them for their purchase in the same manner Ranger, Evinrude and Yamaha do.

Member Posts: 279 Location: Rockford MN | SG You also pay $1,600 in entry fees to the PWT and $1,250 on the FLW. Hense the payout difference. Both curcuits are at the top of the class for "Pro" walleye anglers. The FLW has very good incentives to those who choose to run the sponsored products, it works the same on the PWT look at the articles in the mags.. they are mostly writen by the top sponsored pros of the PWT's sponsors. They are all the same, sponsors make the events happen! Making the sponsors happy is the way these curcuits survive!

There's your difference SG, 125 guys at $350 difference in entry fee is $43,750. Additionally Co's on the PWT only win merchandies - no cash for their entry fee. FLW Co's get cash for their entry fee and the entry fee is less than the PWT. FLW is a Ranger, Evinrude, Yamaha circuit, nothing wrong with that. Its ones choice to fish it. Run the right product on this circuit and the payout is by far the most bang for your buck.
