""the past week through the July 4th."

Little Bay de Noc and Big Bay de Noc seeing some fair to good catches of Walleye this past week.
Water surface temps. running in the middle to upper 60's and through today seeing some water reaching almost 70'
Weather conditions have been some pretty nice days with cooling nights and several days ago a cold-front passing through.
Lake conditions and we are still seeing some large schools of baitfish especially alewives south of Gladstone and seeing the birds feeding today on dying alewives south of Escananba.
Bait and tackle choices and crawler harnesses http://www.walleyeschoice.com I-42's and 43's tipping with live crawlers as well using again Berkley's "gulp".
Water depths finding these fish and surprisingly working shallow waters from 5 feet to 35 feet. Fresh weedbeds are seeing more fish holding and can be fished over the tops using harnesses with just a split shot or two and the edges using bottom-bouncers.
Casting crankbaits too can be productive this time of year ripping through the weeds triggering strikes!
Good choices and Fire-tiger shad raps and Frenzy minnows.

Other options and working suspended Walleye over the deep waters as they are chasing schools of baitfish (alewives, small perch and minnows) pulling crankbaits and using in-line planer boards.

Other fish: Smallmouth Bass action has been picking up especially on Big Bay de Noc working the rock humps and sandy flats.
Tube jigs, small inline spinners and surface baits are good picks.
Northern Pike, been hearing of action again off the weedbed edges casting spinner baits.

Keep in touch fisherman and enjoy the Bay!

Lake Superior too has been part of our agenda this year as a "new feature" and we've been seeing some good Lake Trout action just about everyday out.
Trolling, down-riggers and spoons have been the ticket in our close off-shore trips.
Water depths from 80 to 180 feet seem to holding the most active fish with most action being within 20 feet of the bottom.
Stannard Rock too is seeing some great "jigging" action for those Laker's. In fact today Capt. Bill of Uncle Ducky's Charters
http://www.uncleducky.com took a nice limit of Lakers off the "rock" biggest fish approx. 18 pounds.

Good luck to all, enjoy the summer and the great fishing these both "ponds" offer!
