Today might have been the worse fishing day for me this summer. Started out in the usual spot running squids and meat. Didn't have so much as a touch for almost an hour. I thought for sure every line was cleaned off by unseen trash fish or little walleyes, and we just didn't see it happen. But low and behold, they were all just fine. Called my bud and he said he had 12 in the boat with 4 in the box burning Rattlers. So I hee-hawed around for 15 more minutes thinking if changing over to plastic might be better. When I finally decided to change over I pullled one side, changed them to plastic and then kicked the speed up while I changed the other side.

Well you guessed it, bang-bang two 3 pounders on the meat side almost immediatley. So was this also a fluke? Should I go back to meat and increase the speed? Or should I continue with the plastic change over program? I left it up to the clients and they said change them over to plastic for more action. Well, we did start catching more fish, about 23 total, in fact had a triple on twice, but we still ended the day with only 2 keepers, and both of them came on the meat. Should-a, Could-a, Would-a.
