| The 6th Annual Illinois Governros Cup was held on October 15, 16, 2005 in Henry, Illinois. The teams found that the river levels were low with virtually no current flow. The water temp was in the upper 60's and clear with bright sunny skies both days. Teams caught fish all the way from Henry to the St Bede flats in Spring Valley but finding keeper fish above 14 inches was the key. The key presentations were either running lead core with crank baits or three way's with minnows and a large jig on the bottom. Max Actis and Mike Stuckert from Spring Valley came from 2nd place on Saturday to win with a total weight of 12.46 pounds earning them $3,550.00 along with a $1,000.00 certificate from Mercury Marine. They also had big fish on day one for $360.00, and $100.00 bonus money, compliments of Hennepin Marine as the First Lund owners in the money. Placing second was Rick Parrott from Sparland And Mike Tatera from St. Charles with 11.70 pounds and $1,665.00 cash. Third place honors went to Ron Brake from Petersburg, Illinois and Greg Barry from Springfield, Illinois with 11.32 pounds and $1,100.00.
