First this has nothing to do with fishing,(sorry) but it's important enough for you to read on:
I got a visa bill with a charge from AOL, not to surprising Except I don't have AOL? Six months ago I purchased a new Dell Computor, and charged it to my Visa account. It came with a six month free ( ? ) trial of AOL. I thought what the heck I'll download it and see if I like it. Well after two days I decided that it was not for me, so I discontinued the download. I even removed it from my hard drive to free up disk space. After talking to AOL on the phone they agreed not to charge my Visa Account. I then call the people at Visa and told them the story, and they said the would take care of the bill. When I asked how AOL got my credit card number (I had not given it out to aol ) they said, and this is the scarey part " That Dell probably SOLD them ( AOL) my CREDIT CARD NUMBER". Sell someones credit card number? is that legal? believe it or not the internet companies have different rules than other offline bussinesses follow. So next time you give out your credit card number, be aware that this Selling goes on more than you think. Its kind of scarey that I never knew of this practice, and I'm sure many of you didn't either. Just the tip of the day for all. Now where are the fish biting..?

P.S. Can't happen you say? Who's your president?

This is not a surprise. This has become pretty common practice with Dell. In fact, Dell has been having some major problems with their products (LCD Monitors, Laptop motherboards, etc). By partnering up with AOL, they have become a laughingstock with the IT community. I would avoid both companies and their products. Anyways Hafe, how come I haven't seen you at Romie's lateley?
