Last night my garage was broken into. This has been happening in my neighborhood for a couple of years now. I guess it was my turn. I'm insured and have a good insurance company so I'm okay as far as that goes. Here's a partial inventory:
8 SG27LCW line counters on Bass Pro Walleye Angler rods (mono line)
10 assorted spinning rods and reels. Brands are Cabelas, St. Croix and Pinnacle.
2 handline reels in a green bag, used but only a year old.
Boxes of crankbaits including Wally Divers, Original T-sticks (deep and Deep Jr.) Rapalas and Shad Raps. These are all in Plano boxes.

If any of you are offered a "deal" on some used equipment I would be willing to reward you if you can come up with a license number or a name.
I won't even go into what I would do to the ######### who did this if I caught them. I'll let the cops do it their way.
Thanks for your attention.

Dale,

Sorry to hear of the brak in. What a bummer. The worst part is all your baits that you had confidence in. I know, last year, somebody stole all my crankbaits from my boat at a restaurant in Fond du Lac. No way will I ever replace all my old Storm's, Shad Raps, Hot 'n Tots, etc. that I had that actually worked. Not sure how one is to protect all one's stuff from the slime of the earth. Pretty sad.

Reading this post makes me sick. I cant imagine, someone stealing my fishing equipment. The theif must have known there is a lot of value in those things, which could mean he is a fisherman himself. There should be a death penalty for such a crime.

You might want to keep an eye on E-bay, he might be dumb enough to try to sell your stuff on-line.

Did you try calling around to some of the local baitshops to put them on the alert? Might be worth a handful of phone calls...

Dale, so sorry to hear the bad news. I will keep my ears open. How far do we have to go to protect our valuables? Stuff like this just makes me sick. I had a guy steal my 55 hp motor. I found out who did it and where he lived and lets just say things worked out in my favor. Hope the same goes for you.

Dale... this stuff makes me have a sick stomach, just thinking on it! I hate when this happens.
I have a few extra rods that I will ship you (at my cost) that may help you some... nothing fancy but might get you by in this pinch. You can keep them. I also have a few extra cranks, mostly Salmo Lures, that I can send. I have some plastics (Ringworms, and Super Dos) too if that'll help. My pleasure.
Please Email or shoot me a message me if I can help you out some.

Suppose this guy is a local? Running a notice in the area paper / Shopper of the stolen list and discription may help catch the guy.

So sorry for your loss Dale, It will never be the same, I also went through this a few years back and it seems like no matter what you get it always seems like you can never find those ole faithfulls. After you get the new boxes full do like I did, put together a video of each box and make sure you cover every item, you will be amased at how much was really in there.
Good Luck and get everything you can afford now, I lost my boxes and rods on Memorial Day and Procrastinated a few weeks. and it was tough to get what I needed that late. Cabelas and Gander seemed to have short supply. It took a whole season, although your Pro ticket might make it easier for you to get directly to the tackle companies and get the lists you need for ins.
Good Luck

It would be a very good idea for all of us to take a quick snap shot of our tackle (boxes and rods) so that we have an easier time convincing the insurance company the true value of our loss should something like this occur. Taking inventory and making a list would be a good idea as well, but I doubt it would carry the same weight with an insurance claim.

Dale, sorry to hear that you had an encounter with some low life scum. Hopefully the thief is out for the money and starts passing the stuff to the wrong (right) person. Good news is you get to go shopping, bad news is all the rest.
Take care,
Jim O

Thank you all for the kind words and advice. For people to offer us replacement stuff is just another example of what a close fraternity we all have. With the Big Stone tourney just around the corner you can only imagine the chaos around here!!! Fortunatly lots of friends have risen to the occasion. We've got enough rods and other equipment to get us through until we get the insurance check.

Here's the big lesson from all this. We do have pictures and documentation for 90% of our stuff. Do yourself a favor and start taking pictures and inventories. If it happens to you you'll be glad you did.

Once again, thank for all the support and kind wishes.
Dale and Ginny Frank

P.S. Wouldn't it be great after all of this to get our names on the rock at Big Stone? You never know-That's why we fish and end up with so many great friends.

That just stinks!!!! Bunch of low life, bottom feeding, puke bags!!! I would just be sick if my cranks were stolen!

I'm not trying to make a sale here to profit from it, but if you are looking for a couple of planer board/trolling rods, I have two Quantum Affinity IM7's 7'9" medium action rods paired with tidewater 10LCL line counter reels that I could sell. I think the rods were about 42 bucks a piece and the reels were about 35 a piece. I only used them last summer for trolling Winnebago. I don't need to sell them, but if you are looking for some stuff at a resonable price....

If you are interested...give me a call... price is negotiable..920-893-5425...

Once again..not trying sell something to make a profit, just looking to help out!!
