Yes, Ask for it in the Madison office. Costs $40 a year.

What else must you do to become a fishing guide?

Insurance of some type? Taxs?

Just wondering

Having insurance is a must as is letting your insurance carrier know that you are using your boat for commercial purposes. Anybody can get a guides license, it's what you do with it that makes the guide. It's not like you can just put an ad some place and the world will beat a path to your door. Guides should work hand in hand with the community that they guide in, not just take from the system as some do. Guides should work with kids in some manner by helping at a kids fishing clinic or outing too. A good guide is a good teacher because that's what he is doing on the water, teaching. Be prepared to smile and work it out when a guy is being a jerk, can't fish, breaks something by accident, doesn't bring enough clothes or trys to reel a 3 pound walleye right through the eyelets. Also be prepared to make new friends and get that smile from a guy who just caught the biggest or most fish he's ever caught. Getting started by working with a bait shop or resort is the best way to get going, the rest is up to you.

Thanks for the nice reply, but that's only a small piece of the puzzle. I'd be glad to spend some time with you answering some questions if you think that it might be of some help to you. I'm not an expert on guiding, but I might be able to point you in the right direction on some things.
