How about changing the rule you have to pay two weeks in advance. If you could pay the day before there would be more boats entered.

I thought you could enter the day before? You just have to pay a late entry fee. Which, BTW, I agree with.

You can enter the day before, and yes, there is a fee, which i also agree with.

No you cannot enter the day before! 10PM Friday with a late fee. A second issue is what does paying for all tournments in advance have to do with fishing. 200 extra points if you pay in advance.

John, think hard before you say you're not going to fish the series. I am the first to admit that there have been problems but not fishing is not the answer. I know that you enjoy fishing the Chain and I know that the transfer between the WWA and the CWS has been hard but it has been only one year and if everyone voices their concerns at the meetings, hopefully there will be changes. Don't stop fishing the local tournaments, others are going to give it another try, I hope that you do too. How am I going to find "secret spots" if you're not there?

Steve said that the IL series is set to start April 2 at Haling's, and Haling's has confirmed this. You can pre-register by downloading the 2005 form and sending it in with correct dates. The price is the same as last year. Can't pay with a credit card this year. Hope to see folks there!

OK, I stand corrected. You can enter Friday by 10 PM, according to Ray. And yes, with a late fee. I totally approve. My guess is the 200 points awarded for early sign up is called incentive. If you're not going to fish them all, then I guess this is a moot point.

Hey Wallyslayer, I think the thing to do is to contact Steve himself with some of your questions. He's easy to get a hold of, his cell: 920)651-1066 or
e-mail - [email protected]. You can find that info on the WWA site if you look.
I talked to him this morning and he said that for the first tounament, you can sign up at the meeting with no late fees. You can also choose to sign up that day for just 1 tournament or all of them, with no late fees. As far as to fish or not to fish, that's up to you. There are many people that have already signed up for all 4 of the Chain tournaments. Maybe if we all pull together and stop complaining, we can help make this into the kind of tounament that we love to fish close to home. Good luck and like I said, Steve is happy to take calls at any time.

This is for wall-nut and walleyemaster if your support this so much how come your names are blocked? All the people I have talked to dont plan on fishing id say at least 12 teams do to lack of response and I have left plenty of messages on the wwa website and no one is talking as of tournement directors that is. Can some say if Jeff is running them again this year or not have not seen any posts from him as of yet? Would like to fish this year but concerned will be at sat sign up to see turn out.

If you want to fish, then fish, if you enjoy the spirit and the challenge, then choose to fish. If you don't, then don't spend all of your time trying to talk everyone else out of fishing. Join a different origanization.

I hope you do come Saturday night and check it out. People like and respect you and you being there would be good. Bring your concerns and questions which everyone will have particularly about the late and lack of postings. I for one I think it will be worth it for the friendly competition and fun. It's the only local walleye tournament and there are only 4 tourneys, plus opens and championship. I heard Ted and Sandy will probably do a tourney or two. Talk to them, talk to Halings, come to the first sign-up and do what's best for you. And like Wall-nut said you can call Steve directly, no problem.

See you then, and hey, encourage the others to check it out too!

I doubt there is a tourney at Redwing this weekend. If there is, nobody down there knows anything about it. I guess last year the boats (all 8-10 of them) left from one dock, and when they came in to weigh in they found out that Steve had been kicked off that dock and were told to check in someplace else!! Word going around in Red Wing is that the state didn't issue the WWA any tournament permits this year.

Well, after a phone call I found out that there is a permit issued for a tournament down there. Too bad more people down there don't know about it. The timing is good for that tourney too, since the BIG walleyes just started to turn on in the last few days.

Its two one day tournaments back to back. So there is an entry fee for each one seperately. I encourage anyone looking to fish some tournaments this year try the WWA, it seems as though after a wait they finally got it together, and the schedule, for wisconsin at least, is the best in the state in my opinion, not just two bodies for water, back and forth.
