Well, I have been on this crusade to move the batteries upfront along with the fuel by extending my deck. Wanted to shift some weight so that my kicker wont disrupt the balance (me, tank, 2 batteries, kicker, kicker tank, asking for problems no?) So far, so good. But got to thinking.

Check out the photo below. A solid cover will go over, with the hatch providing access for tank refill as well as storage (2 hatches).

Do you think the proximity of tank vent to battery is unsafe? I havent put in vents, but plan on doing so. My main issue is trolling motor battery and on board charger near the gas source. Notice the top left of the picture and you can see where I cut down the low rod storage flip panel. It is open beyond the frame there.

Am I on the right track? Dont need a flame out?
