Location: Midland, MI 48642 | I finally put a Panther lift on my Skeeter so I don't have to
reach over and pull up the 9.9 any more. Here is my problem. Today when I was out I left the steering rod connected to the little motor. I noticed that the boat steered pretty hard due to the fact that I was also turning the kicker now also. I have to come up with something different so my steering will be easier thus unhooking the steering rod. BUT when I do that what do I do about my kicker now, am sure it will then turn from side to side even with the bungie cord strapped to it. What do you do to stop that? What can I do? if you have a pic of something you have rigged up on your boat could you send me a pic? Skeeter

| Panther makes a strap for this. Adjusted correctly, your kicker is secure from bouncing, and will not turn side to side when tilted up. |

| Besides using the pro-strap by Panther you can mount a ball stud in front of your main engine and clip the linkage rod to it |

| Get a pro-strap for your kicker, and a Panther electro-steer for steering. A pro-strap alternative is a winch strap cable-tied to a heavy-duty bungee cord. In some ways I liked this better as tension adjustment was easier and could be done from within the boat if needed. The bungee takes up the slack in the strap eliminating the need to remove the strap when the motor is in the down position. |
