| I have Starcraft Tournament 180 fibreglass boat which has a factory set back for the main motor. The cavitation plate is even with the bottem of the setback and when running at full throttle I need to trim the motor so high that the needle on the trim gauge is almost at the very top. If I raise the motor, will this get the trim down and therefore give me more efficiancy and speed ? (175 horse evenrude) Can someone tell where the cavitation plate should be in relation to the bottem of the setback ? Thanks. |

Location: Rhinelander | I believe that you will be able to raise the motor one hole with no trouble if you now have to trim the motor all the way to the tilt position to get any performance. The motor mounting position on that boat, if I remember right, was one hole up. In other words, the bolts would be in the second hole from the top. |

| Thanks for the info. I will raise it one notch and hopefully get positive results. |
