he was the only one of the few that actually gave a fishing report or advice. Most post something like this " Caught 5 walleyes yesterday on Winnebago 14-18 inches" That is not a fishing report. It is simply useless bragging. Don't post anything if it is not a helpful report! What constitutes a fishing report? Date/Time Conditions Target species Fish Caught General or specific location Presentation used If you cannot do that then don't post. I came over to this site for reports rather than the worthless blabber and boasting that is all the other fishing sites

Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | I vote for him to come back if he wants to. I don't think voting "he stays" is the right way to put this. I say write him an email asking him to come back. I did this but he chose to leave. I think if more people expressed there wishes to the one person who can control this they might see some results. And I definitely do not agree with hardly a single word of what Doc wrote. If you're looking for all that information I suggest you hire a guide.

I lean with Jerry. I think The Skeeter was a good citizen of the board. His reports were enjoyable. His decision to leave is unfortunate, but stuff happens. However, his decision to delete all posts, to me, was a cry for attention. He could have just "left," and that would have been that. No hoopla, no long lists of posts begging his return, no polls. The dude's got some stuff to work through....let him work through it. I'm agnostic as to whether or not he returns. The sun will still rise in the East tomorrow, and I'll still go fishing on Friday. Let's not make this silly. Regards, xxl

Member Posts: 859 Location: Appleton wi | Domonic had same issue last year from someone giving him a hard time about his fishing reports if i remember correctly they were some of his friends or as he put it "some poeple i know who fish tourny's" he didnt go into too much detail about it but I did ask who this person(s) were and he didnt wanna tell me.I totally agree with Doc up above in his post and the usless info typically on here from other poeple and the bragging poeple like to do . As far as fishing reports nobody in the last couple of years has giving anything even close to what purple skeeter has done on here and in the past it is almost always reports from poeple bragging and having poeple emailing them for details. I do rememebr a time lets say 8-9 years ago information was posted on a daily basis by alot of poeple but the sharing of info have changed .But i do agree on one thing this whole thing has my attention like it did last year when he posted info. on the bay and he started receiving threats. Location: Rhinelander | Ask me what I know about a body of water, and I'll mark maps. Anyone doesn't like that can keep their map to themselves. I liked PS's reports, read them with interest, and figure he'll do whatever he feels he needs to.

Member Posts: 377 Location: Neenah Wi | I see a couple of no's must be a couple of the jerks that e-mailed PS. I just don't get why some feel threatened by all the good advice he gave.Purple must have been right on the money with his reports.Almost forgot my report for the morn.Well the bugs were just terrible and the fishing was not very good for us.We pulled cranks for a couple of hours and the bugs got the best of us.Stayed in the mud for the most part.1 kitty cat about 10# 1 sand pike and 1 14"eye near the rocks on the way in.Used wally divers, shad raps and t-sticks.The majority of the fish we marked were down near botom.I left the crawlers at home so we were left with using cranks.I don't need breakfast this morn.as I had my fill of bugs. I voted no, and its not because i feel threatened by him at all, or the fact that he says exactly what he is doing. I would say why, but this situation is already ridiculously out of control for reasons only god knows why and what everyone is thinking, becuase i sure don't. P.S., Thanks for all of the details and your posts. I've always enjoyed reading them. I don't get out much, and most days I get a lesson on how not to catch fish. I have two young daughters, and when I do take them out I hope that I can put a few fish in the boat to keep them interested. I'm always looking for more details, or or the latest techniques to help me improve the next time out. Life is too short to worry about a couple of peabrains. These lakes are public bodies of water. Whatever your decision is, I will respect It, not the greedy clods that forced you out. Thanks again.

Member Posts: 163 Location: Oshkosh | The whole tournament fishing thing is great, but there are WAY too many people who take it way too far. I am as competitive as the next guy, but if I had a guy who was willing to part with some decent, solid info I would most certainly welcome it! It's like a lot of you said- you can put even the most seasoned pro on a hot spot but you know what? They still have to figure out how to boat them. My tournament fishing days were over two years ago. My recreational fishing days have been severely curtailed after the death of my good friend and former tourney partner last year (just doesn't feel right being out there...). I noticed in him a growing sense of urgency about the whole tournament thing, as well as the almost cut-throat tactics of a lot of the "pros" out there. It has really turned me off on the whole thing. Because of the fact that I seldom get out anymore, it is nice to be able to rely on someone like Purple Skeeter to give a guy some idea as to where to go and what to do. I now find myself gravitating towards a hobby where so far everyone has been more than willing to help a novice. There are no tournaments and nobody has a life or death attitude about how they perform. Purple Skeeter, I have never met you before, but I cannot blame you for your reasoning to leave the site. Keep on doing what makes you happy. And as for you "pros" who threaten someone with the character to help others out, I'm sure all of us on the site here would be happy to pitch in and buy you a one way tickey to a nice vacation destination like sunny Baghdad. Good fishing to all, Mark By the way, Sworrall, is it possible to rig the website to only allow those signed-in to be able to post? The whole anonymous posting thing is ridiculous. It may not have prevented the crap that PS went through, but my God, if you think you have the balls to criticize anyone on this site, be man enough to sign your name!
