Started this morning in my proven spot, and knew right away when I could actually get all 8 lines set, something was wrong. But after about 10 minutes 3 lines went off on the 70 back side of the boat. But all were little spuds of about 13 to 14 inches. And the parade of little ones continued for almost to long in my view, until all I had was one line left in the water. "Boy's, they moved on me, I announced". "Where do you think they went, three of my clients chimed in, almost simultaneously". Well, after 5 days in a row of SW winds, I think they also went SW. So I turned the boat SW and we continued to troll. Pretty soon and almost 2 miles away from my spot the action picked up, and the fish sizes began to get bigger/better. But 11:30 am comes to quick on a 1/2 day trip, so we headed back in with 17 nice walleyes.

we had a similar experience on erie yesterday. it's always extra satisfying when you can find them again. we drove past a huge pack of boats around the mi/oh border on the way out (there's usually a few boats ther because that's as far as you can go if you only have a mi tag). and i though i had made a mistake after we had set our lines all alone north of west sister. after only one in the first half hour we headed in a new direction. it didn't take long before things started to happen and we filled 2 limits in the next hour and a half.

Nice fish! Not too many walleye fishermen could have found them in that short of time. Lots of variables when it comes to walleye movement, but it usually comes down to baitfish movement. Makes for a special day when you find them like that.
